In small country village in the beautiful unspoilt North Devon countryside, Rose Cottage sleeps 4. The ground floor consists of an entrance porch through to the lounge/diner with inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove; TV with freeview; DVD. Two steps down to a fitted kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge with ice box, dishwasher and microwave. Bathroom with power shower, underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Under the stairs cupboard with washer/dryer. Stairs to first floor: 2 bedrooms: one double with iron bed, one twin, wardrobe in each. Electric storage heating throughout. Enclosed front courtyard garden. Close to Village pub serving real ales and excellent food using local produce. Close to cycling on Tarka Trail and walking on Exmoor and North Devon beaches. Horse riding nearby. Available for holidays/weekend breaks.

Located in the beautiful countryside of North Devon, King's Nympton is a small village near the market town of South Molton. The village has a traditional old English pub, the Grove Inn, serving real ales and excellent food using fresh local produce, the Sunday roast is a must but remember to book early. There are plenty of country walks around the village varying in length and ease, a Devon cream tea in one of the many tea shops in the vicinity is highly recommended at the end. Market days in South Molton are Thursday and Saturday where you can purchase meats and dairy produce from the local farms. For a weekly shop it is worth travelling to Barnstaple for its ancient pannier market on Tuesdays and Fridays, in addition to the usual High Street stores and superstores. There are many Houses and Gardens to visit nearby including Arlington Court and Rosemoor. Surf beaches are further on such as Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands, all with parking, refreshment and toilet facilities

  • Both bedrooms are light and airy with stripped wooden flooring and a window seat in each overlooking the village square. There is an iron double bed in the main bedroom with a wardrobe and bedside table with lamp. There are 3' twin beds in the second bedroom and a wardrobe and bedside table with lamp. There is also a TV in this room with freeview. Both bedrooms have newly fitted electric storage heating making the rooms very cosy at night. Bedding and bed linen is provided and extra bedding is available in the airing cupboard upstairs.

Notes: Rose Cottage is a traditional thatched cottage and is not suitable for smokers or for the use of candles. Due to the age of the property wheelchair access would be limited to the lounge/diner (if the entrance is wide enough to allow entry) since there are two steps down to the kitchen and the staircase to the first floor is slightly narrower than normal.

Wonderful Rose Cottage

Once found, Rose cottage is delightful. Very warm, cosy and comfortable. I had to phone the local contact to find the actual cottage but that could easily be more described in future. Also, it took a while to find the instruction manuals in a file! apart from that we had a lovely week and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage.
