Fantastic Property

Stuart D Newbury Berkshire
Review Submitted: August 26, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
Beautiful Dordogne farmhouse with large pool and superb views (the title says) and this is spot on. As a group of eight we had a fantastic week. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and very new.

The owners Darryl and Lynne who live on site were very welcoming and kind, recommended places to visit and made a reservation at the local restuarant for us.

We particularly liked the gardens at Marquayssac which were close by. Food shopping was easy which is important if you are largely self catering.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone considering booking it!

Stuart
Owner's Response: It is very gratifying to have another group who have enjoyed their stay so much. It makes all the work on restoring the property worthwhile. (We have also met a lot of very nice guests in the process!)

Tranquil, Characterful Property

Review Submitted: September 21, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
It was an excellent start to our 2 week stay to find that the property we booked on-line was even better in reality; fresh, clean, airy & spacious. This was our third visit to the Dordogne area and definitely the best.
Although there are plenty of places to eat out we like to be able do our own thing in the evenings, so really appreciated the modern kitchen & facilities (family sized equipment & even a salad spinner!)
The best thing was the peace & quiet and having the space for us all (2 adults, Grandma and 2 'tweenagers'!) to spread out comfortably.
The pool was lovely and well looked after and there is plenty of space for garden games which are thoughtfully provided.
September is a good time to visit the area as most of the crowds have gone but there is still plenty of sunshine left! We enjoyed the markets at Sarlat & Les Eyzies where everyone was extremely friendly. The gardens at Eyrignac were charming & the caves at Font-de-Gaume (Les Eyzies) were well worth the effort of booking in advance to visit. The 1st restaurant (on the right) as you enter Les Eyzies does mouth-watering steaks with truffle sauce.
Lynne & Darryl were perfect hosts - extremely helpful & accommodating but not in the least intrusive.
We would certainly book again if we holiday in this area in the future.

Beautiful holiday home

We had a fantastic two week break at Le Grezier. Both the property and the location were fantastic. Lynne and Darryl were very helpful - whilst not intruding on our holiday. Our children really enjoyed playing in the garden and we all loved the pool. The house is a traditional farmhouse but internally renovated to a high standard - nice and modern and clean inside! The local area had lots to do, we particularly enjoyed the nearby castles, playing in the river and the local patisseries! I would have no hesitation recommending this property as it exceeded our expectations. The views from the house are amazing - and we had brilliant weather - The unheated pool felt like a warm bath. We were sad to leave!

Beautiful Character Property in excellent location

We stayed at Le Grezier in July/Aug 2009 and had  a wonderful two weeks.  The accomodation is well maintained and of a high standard.  It was perfect for two families especially with young (and old) children.  The private pool was fantastic and extremely well cared for.  The property has two terraces which we found very useful at different times of the day.  We made good use of the wi-fi and the outdoor/indoor games provided. The owners (who live nearby) were very helpful and informative with local information and activities.  Le Grezier is ideally situated for visiting all the attractions in the Dordogne and we would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Fabulous holiday rental

Bucko78 Chiddingfold, Surrey
Review Submitted: August 23, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Le Grezier is a beautifully presented farmhouse set with in fantastic scenery. It is a perfect family home, spacious and child friendly. My children loved the pool, which is set behind a fence for security and peace of mind for parents. The gardens are pretty and provide lots of space for children to play.

The local area has lots to offer with various restaurants, which are excellent and away from the noisy, fast turn over places offered in the busier towns.

Sarlat is a charming town with an excellent market. The cobbled streets are buzzing with people and there lots of lovely cafes and restaurants to choose from.

Domme is another stunning medieval walled town close by. The views are fantastic and the children enjoyed the train ride around the town.

I would highly recommend a holiday in this area with something to offer for all the family. Our stay in Le Grezier was relaxing and fun. Our hosts Lynne and Darryl were extremely helpful, providing great recommendations for days out and eating out, and showed great patience with the kids, whilst even educating them on growing their own vegetables!

We would definitely love to return and would have no qualms in recommending the farmhouse to a friend.Sitting on the breakfast terrace in the morning was sheer bliss!

Richard and his girls.
Owner's Response: We thoroughly enjoyed having this family group to stay at our house. There is enough space for people to spread out and have peace and quiet if they want, or come together for family meals and drinks on the terrace. The whole group made really good use of the pool and had fantastic weather for most of their stay. As the garden is in the early stages of development, we expect it to be even better in years to come.
