The Perigord Noir region is rich in prehistoric sites, the famous Lascaux Caves being just a 2km walk up the hillside, there is a wealth of history, architectural treasures and breath taking scenery in the Vezere Valley which is classified the foremost prehistoric site in the world by UNESCO. Canoeing, cycling, rambling, fishing & pony trekking as well as the many adventure playgrounds make this area a fine choice for family holidays or a Spring or Autumn break.
Montignac holds the International Folk/ Dance Festival annually at the end of July and it's streets are alive with dance troops and bands from all over the world. Summertime Montignac and many of the local villages have evening markets where local producers sell their goods. Sarlat with its medieval buildings and ancient arcaded lanes & Perigueux the hospitable capital town of the Perigord are all approximately half an hours drive away. There is easy access to the airports of Bergerac, Limoges and Bordeaux via the A20 & N89.
