Photos and Description of this Montignac holiday apartment Self-catering cottage a short stroll from the pretty little town of Montignac.

Tastefully converted in 2006 La Grange sleeps 4, and comprises large comfortably furnished open plan lounge with wood burner adjoining a modern fitted kitchen / dining area that opens on to the pool area, upstairs are 1 double & 1 twin bedded room + shower room/wc. Enclosed parking, large SW facing garden + gazebo & 8m x 4m pool is shared with the discreet owners, there are ample loungers, a barbecue & outside dining areas . The location gives you the illusion of being in the heart of the country inviting you to relax and soak up the scenic views, yet you are only a 10min stroll into the pretty little town of Montignac with its numerous bars, restaurants, boulangeries and all the usual shops. The world famous Lascaux Caves are walking distance and easily accessible are many other sites of historic interest, and a variety of outdoor activities for all ages are available in and aroud Montignac.

Ground floor apartment Lavande is at right angles to the cottage and though attached to the owners property has its own private access, a hallway leads through to a well equiped modern kitchen overlooking the garden, there is a separate bedroom / sitting area [overlooking front garden and country views] & en-suite shower room. The spacious bedroom / sitting area consists of 2 armchairs, table top desk, TV/DVD, double bed, bedside cabinet & table and wardrobe, there is also a computer connection. Outside dining and barbecue are situated by the entrance door and the pool is in the shared garden area, this gets the full sun from midday to late evening in the summer months, so you can enjoy a dip after a day of sightseeing.

The Perigord Noir region is rich in prehistoric sites, the famous Lascaux Caves being just a 2km walk up the hillside, there is a wealth of history, architectural treasures and breath taking scenery in the Vezere Valley which is classified the foremost prehistoric site in the world by UNESCO. Canoeing, cycling, rambling, fishing & pony trekking as well as the many adventure playgrounds make this area a fine choice for family holidays or a Spring or Autumn break. Montignac holds the International Folk/ Dance Festival annually at the end of July and it's streets are alive with dance troops and bands from all over the world. Summertime Montignac and many of the local villages have evening markets where local producers sell their goods. Sarlat with its medieval buildings and ancient arcaded lanes & Perigueux the hospitable capital town of the Perigord are all approximately half an hours drive away. There is easy access to the airports of Bergerac, Limoges and Bordeaux via the A20 & N89.

  • Bed linen, towels & cleaning are included within the price, you will need to provide your own pool towels.
  • A non refundable 25% deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to your holiday date.
    A cheque of 300 euros / £275 is required as security deposit against breakages this will be refunded by post
    within 10 days of the end of your holiday providing the property is left tidy and without damage or that any breakages have been replaced, otherwise reductions will be made accordingly.
  • The apartment is available from 4pm on arrival day and you are asked to vacate by 10am on day of departure to allow time for cleaning etc.
