The apartment is 4 kilometres south of Guia and 7 kilometres west of Albufeira. Portimoa, Armacao de Pera, Vale de Perra, Vale de Lobo and Monchique Mountains are all near by. There are a number of restaurants serving haute cuisine & dishes such as popular chicken piri-piri. Just outside Guia is the vast Algarve Shopping Centre including hypermarket, many shops, 9 cinemas and a great bowling alley. The marvellous Zoomarine and Splash & Slide parks are also close-by. Why not treat your children to a swim with the dolphins, but you need to book. There are good, clean beaches at Gale, Salgados, Lourenco and Castelo plus many more. Don't forget that fresh bread and croissants are available at a nearby shop every morning. The apartment is within easy reach of Faro airport. Why not take the fast train to Lisbon for the day at only 45 euros FIRST CLASS, but it is best to book beforehand. The nearest station is Albufeira. The Algarve is mainland Portugal's southern most point.

  • Our rates are for pounds sterling. We will except euros or dollars at the equivalent rate at the time of booking. You may pay by cheque. Bank transfer or cash. There is a deposit to be paid at the time of booking or within 21 days. We shall then secure the dates. Full cost is payable 2 months prior to start date. We are happy to refund any deposits and most of full cost if you are unable to use your dates providing you inform us 3 months before start date and assuming we can rent the property out to another guest. We will refund your fees less small admin charge. We are not going to charge you if our running costs are covered when we rent out to other bookings.
  • Our weekend night rates are for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
    Our mid week night rates are for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

  • The apartment has two bedrooms. They are both the same size. They each contain fitted wardrobes and dressing table. One bedroom has 6 ft double bed. It has en-suite bathroom. It has a sliding door to the balcony which faces west. On each side of the bed is a bedside table with table lamp. The other bedroom has two single beds with an additional mattress for the third person. The window faces the pool. Both bedrooms have Portuguese style wall lights and you can turn on/off to suit your preference. The flooring is tiled. The walls are white and the bedrooms can be quite light. Portuguese style 2 pin plug sockets are in all rooms.

Notes:

The apartment is on the 1st floor. It is 6 metres from the access steps. There is no property above. Parking can be very near to the steps and is within a sliding gate. The entrance door is high security and is of multi lever type. Instructions will be given in contract. A door entry system is installed.

Guest notes.

This apartment is new, built in 2007. We have installed many items for your use and comfort. Bed linen and towels are all available. The kitchen is equipped with all you would expect. We have placed many good books and some games in the lounge, they are there for your use. Should any be damaged while you are there then please let us know. If breakages occur then you may either replace or let us know so that we can make arrangements to replace before the next guest arrives. On the last day of your stay you shall be required to vacate the apartment at 10am. We then have time to prepare for our next guest and to check your exit. Locals

For those not familiar with the Algarve we shall provide as much information as we can so that you are not wrongly guided. If you drive then please take care. There are many accidents. The locals tend to drive like they own the place. They drive too fast and too close. There are many speeding controls. The locals tend to drive fast and then set off restraining lights which you will be stopped at. They normally drive so fast they miss them leaving you to stop. They appear to have no regard for any one's safety when they are behind the wheel of a car, van or lorry. Keep documents on you in case the police stop you or you are in an accident.

The Restaurants.

We have found some good local restaurants in the area. One of our favourites is a little place opposite the local beer and wine shop in Guia. We sometimes use Girossol just down from the apartment. Cabinitos is opposite and good for a drink. Also in Guia there is a place called King of Chicken. It is a couple of minutes north of the main roundabout. Go north, it is on the right and has a massive car park. If you really wanted to push the boat out you can go to Abufeira where you will find a bigger choice. The Square is always full of entertainment and there are lots of small streets to explore. Villamura is a fantastic place to visit. There is the casinos, lots of shops and off course the boats in the marina. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Other Activities Zoo Marine and Splash & Slide are near by. Other activities are available and some are seasonal. Full details will be available in the apartment.

Skiing Information:

Water skiing is available on the Algarve.

Golf Information:

Vale de Lobo is famous for its golf. For those wishing to swing a club or 2 then the Algarve has many choices of golf courses. Near by to the apartment is Golf de Salgados. I understand it to be the third most challenging golf course in Europe. I am not a golfer myself, my bag is sailing so it will be no surprise to find me on a boat somewhere or doing a bit of windsurfing. I have water skied from the beach in Villamura. I have windsurfed in Lagos. If you fancy that then it is recommended. If the kids are young they will enjoy the beaches and the waves. Please watch the currents especially if you go any where near Sagres.
