The ancient village of Montagrier is situated in the north west Dordogne between Ribérac and Tocane. The capital city of the Dordogne, Périgueux, is 30 minutes’ drive away. Bourdeilles with its fortified château, the “Venice of Périgord”, Brantome, the caves of Villars and the beautiful South Charente village of Aubeterre are very close. Cabosse is about 300m away from the river Dronne, which winds its way through the Périgord , and just next to the protected natural area of the “côteaux de St. Victor”, famous for its wild orchids. The well known Dordogne sites of Lascaux, Les Eyzies and the châteaux of the Dordogne valley are easily visited in a day trip, as are the wine producing châteaux of Bergerac & Bordeaux. There is a good choice of gourmet restaurants within a short drive. Golf can be played in Périgueux , 25 mins drive away. Montagrier has a well known mountain bike centre & many circuits to follow. River beaches with canoes for hire & fitness tracks are 5 minutes drive away.
