the villa is essentially lovely, there are some issues that should be addressed. the doors into almost every room were very squeaky and sometimes actually difficult to open, this is annoying when it's so ekchos and therefore we had to use the loo with the door open so as not to wake everyone. we have small children and checking on them was much more stressful as the doors were so loud to open. they even sometimes even locking unexpectedly, we had to find tools to remove the locks to stop toddlers from locking themselves in.
there were ants, a known problem that the owner expected us to live with. she did after prompting provide some spray but expected us to buy it at first her attitude was really poor.
the owner lacked any customer service, she never asked how we were or if everything was okay, we had to change a lot of light bulbs, and ask for gas for the bbq, something that should have been checked. she was frankly rude and unfriendly. the issues described were all known to her, but she did little or nothing about them.
there is a drain in the villa that constantly sank, i am not a fussy person but it was like living in a sewer, again something already known about and just covered up.
the property was clean but wasn't cleaned while we were there, that is apparently extra, very poor service considering the price. we had to ask for new towels and sheets, towels provided weren't enough to service the villa and we had to put clean sheets on ourselves.
however my biggest gripe is that the villa described itself as ten mins from the beach, this is simply not true, it's nearer 25 mins and 45 mins back. this was really annoying as we had to use our cars all the time, something we didn't want to do, since we had really young children with different needs.(8 months one of them) we wanted to be able to skip down to the beach and race back individually as babies or toddlers needed. she should change that description, it is a complete mis description and simply not true. the villa is beautifully decorated and has fantastic views, but as someone who has never complained before there were just one too many issues, all of which would have been easier to swallow if the owner had a better customer service attitude."
Owner's Response: This family just simply could not be pleased. They constantly demanded petty items ie: fruit peeler & plastic bowl even though there were perfectly good knives & numerous kitchenware that are of very high standard however, I did deliver the requested items within 1/2 hour also a new gas bottle. The ant problem occured due to them leaving rubbish around the villa even though they were told there were bins outside the property.The drain smelt slightly due to heavy rain, this is a problem that most properties in Spain experience. The beach is 10 minutes walk at a normal pace. Clean sheets & towels were provided at the end of a one week stay, extra cleaning can be requested as stated on the website at an extra charge. On numerous occasions I had to go to the villa to find the security gate constantly open even though they were told to keep this locked for their own security reasons & for the property. When they vacated the villa it was left in a disgusting condition with no respect for my property. I have a very professional & courteous additude to all of my rentals & I have never had a complaint in all of the years I have been renting out my properties.
