Provence is renowned for its temperate climate, low rainfall, clear light and days of bright sunshine. The coastal areas, particularly the Alpes Maritimes have a mild, dry sunny winter, but inland the climate in harsher and in the mountains there is a considerable amount of snow.
The Markets in Provence seem more alive and fascinating than in any other region. There is everything on offer from the traditional Provencal crafts to the famous pottery and an enormous range of vegetables and food. The visitor who is seeking fashionable and elegant surroundings can choose between the animation of Cannes, Monte Carlo, St Tropez or the quieter more discreet life of Hyeres, Beaulieu, Menton, Cap Ferat or Cap Martin.
How to get there:
Approximately an hour inland from anywhere on the Riviera.
Approximately one hour from Nice Airport. Follow A8 motorway in the direction of Aix en Provence and exit at sortie 36 Le Muy. Once you exit the A8 it is approximately 35 minutes drive.
One Hour 20 minutes from Marseille Airport. Follow A8 motorway in the direction of Nice and exit at sortie 36 Le Muy.
