Situated in the area around Vinci, the small town associated with Leonardo, 'Palagina di sotto' is a charming 19th century country villa set on the gentle slopes of 'Montalbano' surrounded by ancient olive trees. Its peaceful and scenic situation is an ideal place to relax or to go for long country walks. The villa and its annexes offer apartments that are typically Tuscan. In the main house are 4 apartments each sleeping 4. The spacious apartment in the farmhouse can accommodate 7 people and has two separate entrances. The villa with its old olive press and hay barn is surrounded by a large garden where you will be able to bask in the sun or lounge in the shade of the olive trees. Near to the pool more opportunity for relaxation and recreation is provided by a spacious solarium with panoramic views, an outside shower and a swimming pool for the smallest guests. You can make full use of the arbour with its barbecue, parking area and table tennis facilities.

'La casa del contadino' (Farmhouse ): Two separate entrances, sleeps 7. Large living room with kitchen corner, dining area, large fireplace and satellite TV.Two bedrooms with four poster double beds. 1 bedroom with single bed, 1 bedroom with two single twin beds, 2 bathrooms, 1 large terrace with table, parasol and barbecue and a second terrace with a table. Two entrances. washing machine and iron. A very beautiful garden around the house. Parking for two or three cars in the garden and space for bicycles. This house is in exposed stone and the ceilings are of brick and beam. All the floors are in terracotta and the decor is typically Tuscan.

From La Palagina you can easily get to illustrious towns famous for their art such as Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Pistioa, Volterra and San Gimignano. The hot springs of Montecatini are not far away and the sea is less than an hour's journey. If the historic and artistic aspects of this area are not to your taste you will be delighted by the local cuisine which is based on simple traditional Tuscan recipes. The wine made in Vinci and the distinctive olive oil of Montalbano are celebrated for their quality and one of the best known chocolatiers in the world is at less than 13 miles distance.

  • There is a 10% reduction for a maximum of four occupants, including children. You will be asked to pay 60 euros extra for cleaning at the end of your stay. You are asked to arrive between 16.00 and 20.00 p.m. and to leave before 10.00 am. A deposit of 200 euros should be paid on arriving. The price given is in euros for the apartment, per week from Saturday to Saturday and includes: gas, water, electricity, hot water and use of washing machine, linen and towels weekly changed, use of pool. Pets: 30€ we accept small pets.
