Before you read any further SEE REVIEWS! This is NOT shared accommodation! Our beautifully restored two storey Farmhouse is set in approximately 5000 square metres of olive groves, almonds and orange trees. Relax on one of the terraces or under the shade of an ancient olive tree or a grapevine with a glass of wine and a good book, or cool off in the private swimming pool and marvel at the spectacular mountain views. Inside, the spacious accommodation is furnished to a high standard including some antiques. Orgiva town is within twenty minutes walking distance and is the place to experience the local restaurants and bars where tapas are Free! A 'must' is a visit to the nearby famous white villages nestling below the Sierra Nevada, or experience the wonder of The Alhambra Palace in Granada. Many of our guests have enjoyed a trip to some of the beautiful beaches only 30 minutes drive away. In our guests experience, you will have a wonderful relaxing holiday in this magical environment.

Whilst not being a large town, Orgiva capital of the Alpujarra holds a weekly market in the town. There are many tapas bars, good restaurants and small supermarkets. There are also 2 health food shops and a herbalist pharmacy. Enjoying many fiestas throughout the year, this is very much a Spanish town. Within 30 minutes you can be in one of the beautiful 'white mountain villages' of the Alpujarras or sitting on a quiet beach on the Mediterranean. Visit the fascinating city of Granada with its spectacular Alhambra Palace, and the old Moorish quarters of the Albaicin. Shop in the town centre or just enjoy the hustle and bustle of the street restaurants and cafes in this ancient student town. Just 30 min away are the relaxing beaches of the Costa Tropical.   • The main bathroom upstairs contains a double handbasin, toilet, bidet and full bath with shower and shower screen. The downstairs bathroom has a fully enclosed shower cubicle, toilet, bidet and hand basin. Towels are proved for the bathrooms and are changed weekly.

  • The bedrooms are all fully furnished with ample wardrobe space. All bedding is provided and changed on a weekly basis. Quilts are provided for the cooler months. A cot for babies is available together with a highchair for meals. Electric fans are also provided for the hotter months. Three of the bedrooms have good mountain or pool views and the fourth has access to a wonderful roof terrace. All of the bedrooms lead off from a landing with balcony. This is a large country Farmhouse with plenty of space to 'swing a cat'. You can find plenty of places inside and out to get away from the family and friends and have a bit of quality time. The large first floor terrace off one of the bedrooms is a favourite with guests in the evening to just gaze at the stars, chat and enjoy a glass of wine. Notes: Saturdays are set as the changeover day as this makes flights cheaper and shopping easier. Smoking is of course allowed outside of the accommodation. The Farmhouse provides genuinely large accommodation with excellent facilities. The photographs on our own web site speak for themselves. This is not a small 'cortijo' deceptively photographed and you will not be sharing the pool or sharing other accommodation with other guest or the owners!!

Additional information: The farmhouse provides large accommodation and is ideal for family/friends holidays and is suitable for winter lets. The construction allows the house to remain cool even in the hottest months. The gardens contains olive terraces, bordered by almond, fig and orange trees. There is access to many walks in the countryside, the town and local bars and restaurants. There are spectacular views of the surrounding mountains from most aspects. Easy access by car and a short, safe 20 minute walk into town along a lovely track. Just read the reviews of people who have stayed in the Farmhouse to get an independent view of all the facilities and location.

When comparing with other holiday lets, do check on the real comparisons. This is a genuinely large Farmhouse, not a small 'Cortijo' (cottage) nicely photographed. This is a totally self contained Farmhouse in well keep grounds with the swimming pool and all other facilities, provided just for the renter, and not shared with the owner or other guests. You can leave the car at the farmhouse and walk safely into town for a meal or a drink along a quiet country track. The owners, a retired professional couple, are normally available to you for advice and tips throughout your stay and personally manage all the meeting and greetings personally. If any of these points are important to you for your holiday, just ensure that you check before you book.

Over the years, we have stayed in many villas/houses in many different locations - fair to say this is the loveliest.

Spotlessly clean and clearly well loved and maintained by Fiona & Graham the cortijo is well appointed and comfortable. It sits at the foot of a breathtaking mountain range close to a small market town with several excellent restaurants and bars, small shops and a decent supermarket - you really don't need to go far for everything you need.

Outside the pool and garden are idyllic. Plenty of sun loungers, a large pool and any number of olive, orange and fig trees in the lovely garden and terraces.

The transaction was easy and efficient at all stages, good communication and plenty of local information was provided and Fiona & Graham are very welcoming and helpful without imposing themselves.

Granada (with the awesome Alhambra and Generalife as well as much more to see) is about 50 minutes away, the coast about the same. There is plenty of walking and the views and surroundings just superb.

It really is difficult to find fault with the property and the service and friendliness shown by its owners. We would return tomorrow and are very happy to recommend this as a great holiday destination.

What a wonderful place to stay!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. Everything was as we had hoped and wished for. The house was very clean, with plenty of space - the grounds were lovely - our children enjoyed hunting for geckos every night and grasshoppers in the day, and the garden contained fig trees, grape vines, pomegranate trees, almond trees and orange trees...all covered in fruit! The swimming pool was excellent, clean and refreshing and just the right size! The house was very secure and peaceful though close to the road leading into the town. There was also a very accessible track leading up into Orgiva, and the town itself we really enjoyed too. Plenty of bars and restaurants - friendly people and everything we needed. The house was a great place for children - easy to keep them inside when we weren't all around the pool. Graham and Fiona were very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. Thank-you both for a wonderful stay. Our only two recommendations would be a CD of Spanish flamenco music and a nut cracker for the almonds! Our only hesitation in recommending it is that it may be too booked out for us to return!!

We stayed at the property for 2 weeks with our 2 kids aged 1 and 2, plus 2 sets of grandparents staying for a week each with an overlap, and there was plenty of space for all of us. Everything was clean and comfortable, with spacious reception areas and kitchen. It was great to have such a large and private garden and pool, and a bonus to be able to pick grapes, figs and almonds. Graham and Fiona were very helpful and friendly, and always available for advice or to help rescue our 2 year old son who had locked himself in the bathroom!
We all had a great, relaxing time, and would recommend the property to any family

Sun, Swimming pool and Sangria

An 'easy' property to live in, comfortable, lots of space for the five of us (2 adults and 3 teenagers), all the essentials and tastefully decorated.
Our stay at the farmhouse started with a warm, friendly welcome, and within minutes we realized our expectations had been exceeded - the photos do not do the property justice. The views of the mountains from the garden and terraces are truly spectacular and we would have ventured up these but sitting and relaxing by the large pool was just too tempting in the July heat. Being able to pick oranges warmed by the sun, straight from the trees was an added bonus. For those not wishing to worship the sun god, shade was provided by the lovely old olive trees.
Overall we thoroughly recommend this property - many thanks to Fiona and Graham.
