This sweet home could not offer you a finer location for year round outdoor fun! It offers 400ft of frontage onto the fantastic Connecticut River, which borders Vermont and New Hampshire. It has approx. 2.5 acres of land, some wooded, some level, & a walk-out basement with laundry. Perfect for winter sports - Skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snow shoeing - an hour or so drive of 7 major ski resorts, so you can ski a different one each day! There is also lots to be done in Spring and Summer - canoeing, fishing, swimming (in the Connecticut River of course!), walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding, hunting. The Great Outdoors awaits! Notes: Property is suitable for elderly & infirm (as it is all on one level except for the basement), as is immediate land outside, but the path down to the river is quite steep and may not be suitable for someone who has difficulty walking.

New England vacation home on Ct river

I enjoyed this home alot as on this trip my car had blown the engine and my family was under alot of stress from my transportation problems. The home turned out to be very conforting. There was enough room and everything was moderinized from IKEA. It is not a place to be with out a vehicle. I also did not realize it was close to the road. I would advise a close watch on small children as there was a slope dirt path down to the river. There was also a dam close to this property and could pose a danger for small children and drowning. The scenery in the area was excellent. We did take a drive to the shopping centers that were approximately one hour away. This was very enjoyable. We had noticed lots of family activities in this area from water parks to recreational parks to shopping to restaurants. A good time was had by all in spite of our car troubles.
Owner's Response: The property is advertised as 'right on the Connecticut River' and we do actually state in our letter to potential rentors that the path to the river is fairly steep in places. There is a dam downstream about a half mile away, but actually that slows the river down so is likely to make the river safer.
As for the closeness of the road, there is a garden, rail fence and hedge between house and road, and the road is in a 40mph zone.
We have very young children ourselves, as do our neighbours, and responsible parents always ensure adequate supervision of their children anyway especially when near water or roads.

Beautiful New England house

We were very pleased with this house. It was beautifully clean and tidy and we found it very comfortable. It seemed to be recently refurbished and modern inside. We had several feet of snow so did not explore the area leading down to the river. The house is about 10 miles from the nearest town and restaurants which is ok until you have heavy snowfall and the road becomes a bit slippery. However the drive was cleared and maintained as expected by a neighbour. I would recomend this lovely holiday home. If you don't mind the distance to the town, you find yourself in a very beautiful part of the world.

What a vacation....

We stayed at the Dalton property the last week of August with our (2) small children both under 4. The house was exactly as described and working with owners was easy and pleasant. The location was within a nice distance of the attractions - White Mountains and Santa's Village - The home was very well maintained and the care taker was very attentive - The welcome package was SO much appreciated after a long drive!!! Would recommend to others, and are looking forward to visiting again!

Cute little house

Everything clean and new.
Welcome pack on arrival which was a nice touch.
We were as warm as toast in the house despite the cold outside.
Skiing at Bretton Woods was fabulous, not far from shops and restaurants at Littleton as well.
Everything you would need for a super vacation, great price too! Will definitely stay again.
