Further details for this holiday cottage rental in Kent, United Kingdom

THE SURROUNDING AREA: Westerham is situated on the boarder crossroads of Kent, Surrey & Greater London & is a lively charming village attracting Londoners who simply want to get away from their business life in under an hour from the Capital. Westerham is a large village (bordering on being a small town) offering everything needed to make your stay ideal. The area has good transport links, many first class tourist attractions and a range of local leisure facilities. Non stop fast train services to London Bridge from Sevenoaks rail station take 27 minutes and are on average every 18 minutes making the Lodge a great place to stay. Trains from Bromley South are similar. Westerham Golf Course neighbours the Lodge and welcomes our guests just to attend their bar or restaurant even if it's just to take in the outstanding views and stay for coffee. The area is fantastic for walkers who love the countryside. Rabbits, badgers and deer frequently visit our gardens and make the views even more delightful.

ACCESS FROM WEST: Access from the West (using M25), approximately 15 minutes. Leave M25 at junction 6 and travel south on A22 for one mile to roundabout at junction with A25. Turn left onto A25 and proceed to Westerham. Continue on the A25 through Westerham village and the Lodge/Golf course entrance is on the right approximately half a mile out of Westerham going east in the direction of Brasted. Enter the grounds via the Valence School/Golf Course access road located on the right side of the A25. At the crossroads (located just before gates which lead to the Golf Course) turn left back toward the A25.

ACCESS FROM EAST: Access from the East (using M25), approximately 10 minutes. Leave M25 at junction 5 onto A21 and exit onto second slip road (A25) signposted to Westerham. The entrance to the Lodge & Golf course is about half a mile out of the village of Brasted, on the left, about half a mile before you get to Westerham Village. Enter the grounds via the Valence School/Golf Course access road located on the left side of the A25. At the crossroads (located just before gates which lead to the Golf Course) turn left back toward the A25. PLEASE ENSURE WE HAVE YOUR FULL DETAILS including mobile telephone number as this helps us guide you to the Lodge and assists arrival times as flight delays will cause difficulties as we are not resident. Additionally if we have this information this helps in situations of emergencies as we can assist by contacting your family so they can help should you become ill or in need of some aid.

Golf: If you fancy a day of golf, then you can choose from over 15 golf courses all with 15 minutes of the Lodge. WESTERHAM GOLF CLUB is immediately alongside the Lodge & was born out of the great storm of 1987, which created an ideal site for a golf course and was opened in May 1997. The course consists of 18 holes set in mature woodland, with tree-lined fairways, water features and stunning views over the North Downs. The 6,272 yards, par 72 course has been built to a very high standard, with USGA specification greens and irrigation installed on the greens, tees and approaches. The course is complimented by a superb clubhouse, which holds first class facilities including a large spike bar, sun terrace, comfortable changing rooms, Pro shop and air-conditioned function suite. In addition the facilities include a 10-acre driving range, putting green, indoor teaching area and a brand new 8 acre short game area.

Other Activities: Numerous local Pubs, Restaurants, Cafes, Shops (including antique), Historical Sights & London - best of both worlds.

Great house in a great location!!

MMMB North East England
Review Submitted: September 11, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The house is very comfortable and clean with all home comforts and Rob the owner was very welcoming and helpful. We stayed for a week with two teenagers and would say that the house is ideally situated no matter what you're looking for. It is within beautiful countryside with many small villages nearby but is also close to the motorway system enabling quick and easy access to many places of interest within Kent and Surrey.

It is also close to train stations enabling a very quick (25 mins) and cheap journey into central London.

During our stay we also visited Thorpe Park (ideal for older children) which was only 40 mins by car, Chessington World of Adventures (ideal for younger children) which was even closer and Hever Castle which is nearby.

There are many other places within easy access we would have liked to visit but unfortunately time didn't allow. All in all we would highly recommend the house and the area for a great holiday and would definitely stay there again.

Review Submitted: August 30, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
we enjoyed our stay at Brasted lodge very much. In the house we lived like in a small castle. We had wonderful holidays. Rob, the owner was so nice and very helpful to all problems or questions we had. The Lodge is very comfortably and clean.
From Brasted Lodge it is not very far to visit London but we also did excursions to Hastings and Brighton which was also not far to drive.
We will surely return to this location an we just recommended this property to our friends.
Thank you again very much to the owner for creating such a wonderful location for tourists.

Such a lovley place / Ein zweites Zuhause

Anera Wolfsburg/Braunschweig, Niedersachsen, Deutschland, Germany
Review Submitted: July 24, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We stayed at Brasted Lodge for one month and felt like being at home right from the beginning. The house is even more inviting than the website can tell you. Our four year old daughter keeps on teaching us how we should pronounce "Robert" (the owners name) in the wright way because we have to improve for our next stay. We love to come again, hopefully soon.

THE place to stay when visiting London

Craig and Lisa Pismo Beach, CA
Review Submitted: July 5, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Stayed for almost a week in mid June 2009. All very positive with a lovely location and a very helpful owner, Rob. Would love to come back soon. Easily accommodated my wife and I and our two teenagers. Close to many small villages and good pubs. Loved nearby Fox and Hound pub.The house is roomy and clean and has very comforatable beds, with Wi-Fi that was truly high speed, and satellite TV.
Only drawback, and they are minor, were proximity to busy road (but no noise at night) and office/barn immediately outside bedroom that is used only on Teusdays. Again, these were minor, even for someone who loves quiet and privacy like we do.
Deposit was refunded promptly and, owner now takes PayPal, which makes it very easy to pay and reserve.
We loved out stay and are looking at dates for returning next year! Thanks, Rob.
