Two charming Quercy style cottages and a studio, set in an ancient wooded valley on the Dordogne/Lot border. Warm, sunny south facing position with an abundance of birds and wildlife. The rustic cottages are beautifully furnished, each comprising two bedrooms sleeping 4/5, plus cot. The spacious open plan living area comprises a well equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge and washing machine. There is a comfortable sitting room area with oak beams and many original features. TV, DVD/CD, books and games are provided. The cottages and studio each has its own private patio area with garden furniture. There is a separate BBQ area, and a luxury pool with security gate and alarm. The property is set against a magnificent wooded backdrop with prehistoric caves. The setting is rural and a short walk from the village of St Cirq-Madelon. It nestles between the Bastille towns of Domme, Sarlat and Gourdon. The Dordogne River is only a 15 minute drive away and offers swimming and canoeing.

La Chaumiere is only a short drive from the historic sights of the region: Domme, Sarlat, Le Roque Gageac, Castlenaud, Rocamadour, etc. Picturesque Gourdon, ten minutes by car, has a multitude of shops, bars and restaurants and a weekly Market. The village of Grolejac and its ‘Plan d’eau’ – a beautiful lake in a tranquil setting with a sandy beach – is 5 minutes away and ideal for children. The gites and studio can be let individually or together for family groups.
