Location: Les Arcs in France
Car: not necessary
Les Arcs, based on the sunny West facing slopes above Bourg St Maurice, has a huge and varied ski area with an excellent snow record and has something to offer all levels of skier. In addition to the cable car link with la Plagne there have been a number of new lifts installed in the Arc 2000 area. Les Arcs is a high altitude resort offering superb skiing from the trees of Peisey and Villaroger to the summit of the Aiguille Rouge with its breath-taking views over the surrounding French, Italian and Swiss Alps.
Access to the ski area of Les Arcs is via a high-speed 6-seater chairlift out of Plan Peisey. At the top of this chairlift there is a blue run to Arc 1800 from where the TransArc cable car provides access to the Arc 2000 ski area. When skiing home to Plan Peisey there is a choice of easy green, blue or red pistes. Alternatively there is a black run if those legs are not too tired at the end of the day.
