Callao Salvaje holiday villa: CALLAO SALVAJE

This is a lovely villa in the village of Calleo Salvaje with stunning views overlooking the Atlantic ocean and towards La Gomera. The villa is very spacious and very clean with a lovely pool that makes you want to have a daily dip. We enjoyed two weeks with a couple of barbecues on the terrace and sat with a cup of tea on the upstairs sun terrace every night watching the sun go down over La Gomera listening to the strange and comical noises of the sea birds. The village is nearby with plenty of shops and restaurants. You can get good English breakfasts, there's Bonnies Tea Rooms with delicious cakes and a great ice cream parlour that sells italian ice cream in various flavours. The Irish pub has a quiz on a Monday evening and a pool table that keeps you entertained. A shop in the village helps with excursions and sells the local "Bono" bus tickets for either 12 or 30 euros, the buses will take you either way towards Los Gigantes or towards Adeje, Las Americas and Los Cristianos. Aqualand and Siam Park are both good excursions with either dolphin shows or wave machine. Loro Parque is a longer excursion but has whale and sea lion shows. Jungle Park has a great Bird of Prey show and watch out for the American eagles who come out of the sky when they hear music from "Pulp Fiction"!! The owners of this villa, Frank and Shirley, are very helpful and they are very lucky to have this lovely villa in such a great location. My husband and I said during our stay that if we won the lottery, we would make Frank an offer to buy it!!! If you're looking for a great villa, then this is the one to consider.

We have just returned home from the most restful ,peaceful,perfect holiday in Callao Salvaje.The villa,14,Sueno Azul,delivered on every promise and the views over to La Gomera were stunning.It was clean and well maintained,lots of lovely touches,a cupboard full of books and a plentiful supply of dvds(just the ticket when you want to unwind a bit more before bed)The kitchen is very well equipped if you wanted to cook although there is such a selection of reasonably priced restaurants nearby(less than a ten minute stroll)you probably won't want to bother.Try La Bodega,at the end of the main street,great value and a nice atmosphere.There is also plenty of space outside the villa,as the pool and sunbathing area are on two separate levels.Upstairs is a fantastic sunbathing area with six sunbeds and a lovely pergola with sofa when you want to escape the sun.Down on the living area is the pool,great fun and not too deep,an abundance of towels and another table and chairs if you want to eat al fresco and drink in the views.My only regret is that we didn't book another week!

Myself, husband, 2 sisters and brother-in-law (all in our sixties) had a relaxing 2 weeks. Location was peaceful, easy to catch the bus to other areas. Villa was spacious, had wonderful views. Good supermarkets, we found the Spanish one the most reasonable. Couple of the bars were ok and we ate once in Beckhams, reasonably priced food but felt we were stung on the cost of wine @ 3 euros a glass, the men had Murphys which were 4 euros a glass!!! Overall an enjoyable holiday and having the pool (which we used most days) was a bonus!!
