Converted 2 bedroom barn in open countryside, close to all amenities

A self contained converted barn to sleep up to four people, with views of the Pyrenees. Double doors lead to an open plan kitchen/living area with tiled floor throughout and exposed beams. The comprehensively fitted kitchen has an oven and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. In the downstairs shower room is a washing machine. The lounge area has a wood burning stove and electric storage heater, television, DVD player, radio/CD, and for longer rentals, a telephone point. Open stairs lead to a twin and a double bedroom, both with ensuite WC/washbasin. These rooms have views over the garden. Outside, there is a private seating area for those alfresco barbecues. The garden, shared with the owners has mature trees and shrubs with walkway through to the 10 x 5 pool which is 4 foot deep throughout, open from May to September and surrounded by a sun terrace. The accommodation is in a relaxed quiet location, yet only a short drive from a town with all facilities and a weekly market.

The Hautes Pyrenees is in a relatively undiscovered area of France called Gascony, with many attractions which can be visited within around an hours drive, ranging from outdoor sporting pursuits, the Pyrenean National Park, caves, castles, fortified churches and bastide towns to name a few. Walking, cycling, horse riding sports are all catered for in a variety of different landscapes, high or flat. Adventure sports of canyoning, white water rafting, are available. Places to visit for a day trip include the spiritual town of Lourdes, the cultural town of Toulouse, the cosmopolitan town of Pau with its wealth of shops and a beautiful château, and the medieval town of Carcassonne. An hours drive will take the traveller through beautiful scenery across the border into Spain. The fashionable seaside resorts of Biarritz, St Jean de Luz and the sandy beaches of the Atlantice coast are a comfortable drive for a day at the seaside. Or you can just relax, and soak up the scenery.
