A welcome retreat and a great base to visit Rome

We found this property after searching long and hard for a place where we could relax, park our car and also access the sights of Rome and its surrounds easily. The Villa is very well presented, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample space for guests. In our apartment, the living area merged onto a large deck where we ate some of our meals. Our three girls enjoyed the walks around the property where there were grape vines, vegetable gardens and chickens young and old. During most days, we caught a train from nearby Campoleone station (5 minutes away) into Rome. The trip was very quick and after a day of sight-seeing, it was good to come back to the villa and enjoy the tranquility. The hosts, Mick and Angela, were very helpful and gave us quite a few tips to enjoy Rome more. One day, they put on a barbeque which was enjoyed in their outdoor area - it was excellent value and wellcooked. Nearby Anzio can provide a taste of what Italian beach culture is like; as well as a bit of history, with the Anzio Beach-head Museum. As self-caterers, we found a large supermarket only five minutes drive away and this provided all of our food requirements. Overall, this Villa was a excellent option for our family and we recommend it highly.
