Photos and Description of this Algodonales holiday apartment Come and explore the beauty of Rural Spain!!!!

Our villa is situated in its own 10,000 m2 grounds planted with vines (la Parra), olives and fruit and nut trees. It is within easy walking distance of the centre of the village. Two twin en-suite bedrooms with lounge/dining room with Spanish and UK TV and radio, kitchen, balcony, large gardens with fabulous panoramic views of the Andalucian countryside. Our Pool is available for the use of guests: 13m x 4m swimming pool (solar heated) There is a very large decking area for sun bathing and general relaxation, adjacent to the pool is its own bathroom with large shower and toilet, next door is the mini gym with exercise bike and stepping machines .When you tire of lounging around the pool there is horse riding, walking, shopping, sight seeing and even paragliding (which the area is renowned for). Algodonales has enough restaurants bars and entertainment to keep you happy. Although definitely rustic, the surrounding scenery in any direction is little short of spectacular.

Near the centre of this town. We are situated on the edge of the village of Algodonales, which lies about one and a half hours drive inland from Malaga and nestles beneath the most popular paragliding and hang gliding site in the area, the 3,300ft Sierra de Lejar. It is central to the other sites in the region and is a traditional rural market town with a population of about 3,000.Entering Algodonales you will be struck by the quaint narrow streets and tree lined square. There are an adequate number of bars and restaurants and even a couple of discos for the young at heart. It is so cheap to eat out that no one cooks unless its for fun. The town forms a romantic picture in the evening as the red light of the setting sun reflects a pink glow over the twinkling streetlights and white buildings. The Region Andalucia is famous for its pretty white-painted villages that gleam brilliantly in the intense sunlight and attract tourists from all over Europe.

Places to visit: Distances.We are about a thirty minutes drive away from Ronda. A beautiful historic town. Seville is hour away by car, there is also a good bus service that runs regular from the village to Seville, (If you want a day off from driving!) In Seville also for the for children there is the island o magic .A theme park for all the family. Jerez is also a drive of about an hour .Famous for the beautiful Spanish horse riding schools and also the sherry tour is worth making the journey for.

Walking and bird watching: The beautiful hill village Zahara is just 15 minutes drive away a great place to walk and explore. Overall the surrounding scenery in any direction is little short of spectacular. Artists and photographers will be in their element, as will birdwatchers. The rare Griffon vulture roosts on the mountain immediately behind Algodonales,

Other Activities: Bird watching,walking,Paragliding, hangliding, Painting, sight seeing.

Cassa la Parra-great for facilities, peace&views

We were met on arrival by Julie who wanted to make sure that we felt very welcome and at home. The accomodation in the single bedroom with bathroom suite and both sets of self contained acomodation was very good. Our own catering was complemented by fresh oranges and tomatoes from Julie's own fruit orchards and vegetable garden. Julie was able to brief us in depth as to places to visit near and as far as the south west coast. But Julie was also very happy if we just wanted to stay next to the swimming pool or spread out across the garden. The family were also competent spanish speakers which was very helpful on a visit to a local guitar maker's workshop! The longer we stayed, I think it became more a stay with a very caring lady (and especially a patient one, when we locked ourselves out late one night) rather than a landlady. And on our last day, I think we were all sad to leave especially as we were leaving behined two new lovely friends which we hope to meet again.

A very pleasant, welcoming,friendly and relaxing place to stay. Well located for visiting the National Park and the pretty villages of Grazelam, Zaharra de la Sierra plus Arcos and Ronda.

Will return if visiting the area again

Functional and clean apartment with two nice and new bathrooms and bedrooms. Scenic view from the balcony. The owner was very helpful with everything and we tasted various fresh fruit from the garden, yummy! My husband had brought his street bike, and he really enjoyed the surrounding mountain area, while the kids and I appreciated the nice and big pool. Good place to stay for exploring Sevilla and Ronda area etc.. Algodonales also had some nice tapas restaurants! We will be back! Lene and Martin

Our stay at Casa la Parra

We really enjoyed our stay at this B&B.
Julie makes you feel at home the minute you arrive, her breakfasts are very nice with fresh fruit out of her own garden. Our appartment was very nice and spacious with a kitchen with all the equipment you need and a luxuous bathroom. Outside we had a nice, tiny terrace and of course we could sit/lie at the pool. The town Algodonales is a very nice, lively little town where it's nice to go out for a evening meal and a drink.

We really apreciated our stay in Casa La Parra. The accomodation is very well located in a small village near Ronda where you can do very nice walks.

Julie will welcome you in excellent conditions, and explain you all you can do in the area.

You will enjoy your breakfast, with fruits from the garden.

We really recommand that place.
