Attractive family friendly detached villa in Eastern Algarve, set in own grounds with colourful Mediterranean style garden and private L-shaped swimming pool. 500 metres from the Ria Formosa Sea Lagoon - the holiday and fishing village of Cabanas with its welcoming bars and restaurants - and miles of unspoilt, clean, golden sandy beach. The picturesque old town of Tavira and island is a 10 minute drive. Benamor is 1 of 4 golf courses all within a 5-20 minute drive! Spacious, well furnished villa with en-suite master bedroom; 2 twin-bedded rooms; built in wardrobes, separate second bathroom. Ceiling fans in each bedroom. Cot/highchair. Fitted kitchen, with gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave/grill, washing machine, dishwasher. Large dining room and comfortable lounge. Villa Casasol is 500m walk to the beautiful Ria Formosa Sea Lagoon at Cabanas, fishing boats and access by fisherman’s ferry boat to miles of golden sandy beach that shelve gently into the Atlantic Ocean. The lagoon is ideal for beach bbqs, bird watching, fishing, digging for cockles and country walks along the shore. The bustling old town of Tavira, with its Roman Bridge, castle, daily market, attractive gardens, shops, restaurants and river trips is 10 minutes drive or explore the coast and Faro for sightseeing and shopping via the regular bus and train services. The islands of Tavira, Armona, Culatra and Faro are beautiful to visit as is the natural park at Quinta do Marim. Perhaps a visit to Vila Real de San Antonio for shopping, deep sea fishing or a boat trip upstream on the Guadiana River maybe fun, or even a day trip to Spain! Not forgetting the fascinating inland towns of Loule and Silves, especially on market day to hunt for copper and leather souvenirs.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The weekly rental price, listed above, covers twice weekly maid service, pool cleaning, electricity and gas. A 25% deposit of the total rental cost is required within 7 days to confirm your booking. The balance is due 6 weeks before departure and keys are sent to you 2 weeks before your holiday date.
    There is an additional refundable deposit of £100 payable on booking, which is returned to you approximately 10 days after your holiday, provided the villa is left in a clean and tidy condition without damage or loss to either the villa or its contents, and to ensure the safe return of the keys to me after your holiday.
  • Please note that bookings are usually made on a basis of 6.00 pm Saturday on arrival - 11.00 am Saturday on departure, to allow time for cleaning the villa, but these days can be flexible if necessary provided they are not in peak season. Sorry, no pets allowed.
  • The rental price per week for holidays of 3 weeks or more during the Winter 2009 and Spring 2010 period is £250 per week plus an additional £25 per week for utilities. A refundable security deposit of £100 per fortnight is required and will be returned to you after your holiday provided the villa is left clean and tidy without damage or loss and the keys are returned to me..
    After an initial provision by Villa Casasol of gas bottles and seasoned logs (kept in 2 large wood atores) further gas bottles and additional wood are payable at the client’s own expense. Please contact me for further details. Maid service and pool service is weekly. Sorry, no pets allowed.

  • Villa Casasol has three bedrooms - one double ensuite and a further two twin bedded rooms. The ensuite bedroom has a double bed with two bedside cabinets, 2 bedside lamps, a large wall mirror, radio alarm clock, ceiling fan, 2 basket easy chairs and table, and an aluminium louvred outer and curtained inner glass door leading to the courtyard patio and garden. It also has fitted wardrobe space and a mirrored dressing table/desk with chair , chest of drawers , corner unit and an additional portable fan. The twins both have ceiling fans, fitted wardrobe space, a bedside lamp, an easy chair, a mirrored dressing table/desk and chair. The windows overlook either the side garden or rear garden and have outside aluminium louvred shutters and attractive window grilles. There is a hairdryer in each bedroom. A Baby's cot is available for use.

Notes: Long term winter rentals are welcome and the price for a minimum 3 week stay is discounted to £250 per week. Single weekly rentals in winter are priced at £500. Maid service is usually on Wednesday and Saturday, with a weekly bedlinen and towel change. All linen (except beach towels) is provided. The swimming pool is cleaned twice a week during summer, but weekly in the winter months. In the lounge, there is a woodburning fire and two gas fires for holidays in cooler weather, and two additional fans for the summer. There is also a small library of books and children's toys and games. The utility room houses the washing machine and dishwasher and has an iron, board and clothes airer, a highchair, plus a couple of beach umbrellas for your use. Car Parking is available both outside the villa, and also inside on the shady drive. The local manager lives nearby. Sorry, no pets allowed.

Great place to stay!

Our experience of Villa Casasol was excellent right through from the booking of the villa, to the duration of our stay there and communication on our return to the UK.

The owner was more than helpful and provided a wealth of information on the property which, incidentally, is located in a lovely neighbourhood in Cabanas. There was some building works in the vicinity but we were fully notified of this in advance before we booked and it did not detract from a lovely setting and a lovely property. There was a fair bit of building works in and around Cabanas and Tavira so it will be interesting to see if the place becomes more commercialised in a couple of years time - I hope not!

Villa Casasol is ideally located to access the small village and beautiful beach by foot and there is a good choice of restaurants and small cafe bars to choose from in the village. It is a quiet place so if you are looking for a lively location then this is not for you - very Portuguese which adds to its charm. The villa was kitted out with everything you would possibly need to enjoy your stay there and the staff who came to clean the property and the pool were most helpful and obliging. The garden and the pool area were delightful and is ideal for relaxing and getting away from it all. It is well worth visiting Tavira which is only 5 minutes drive away as it is a beautiful town or you can catch the bus which you can get from the main street of Cabanas. The property is also well located for other sightseeing but we were too laid back to go much further than the lovely beach!

All in all, a great place to stay with very helpful owners - we would definitely recommend it to friends and family and will almost certainly pay a return visit there at some point in the future.
