A Special Get-Away

Dear Rosa: I am writing to you because as you know my wife and I and two other friends of ours recently stayed at your apartment, The Roman Well, and I wanted to share with you how much we enjoyed staying in your apartment and in Cortona. First, your apartment is right in the center of Cortona, which made it very easy for us to get around: in less than two minutes we were in the main road, Via Nazionale. Also, your apartment was spacious enough for the four of us to have our own private space. Secondly, the two bathrooms, one on each floor, made it very easy for us to take care of our personal needs. Then, the historic well in the living room area and the huge fireplace in the dining area, added a special historic feeling to our vacation. Also, the fact that we could cook on days we were too tired to go out, saved us money and made us feel right at home. Though, I might add, we found the food in Cortona very good.
We enjoyed Cortona very much because it is a wonderful cozy little town with a lot going on: theater, galleries, museums, restaurants, bars, and much more. And of course, the fact that Cortona is central to so many other important cities like Rome, Florence, Siena, and Perugia, made it very easy for us to take daily trips to these places. I only wish we had been able to stay there more than two weeks. Please thank Laura, the woman who met us when we first arrived in Cortona and took us to the apartment. She was very sweet and very helpful, and the fact that she speaks English made us feel very comfortable.
My wife and I, and our friends feel that Cortona is the right place to be, small enough for us to relax and to enjoy its beautiful architectural art and paintings. We feel we can’t recommend neither Cortona nor your wonderful apartment highly enough. Again, we only wish we had the opportunity to stay longer. Thank you,

We are also glad the central position of the apartment allowed you to use public transportation for your daily trips, rather than having to rent a car--which can cost a pretty penny.
