Private Villa with pool in Gaiole in Chianti in Tuscany sleeping up to 14 people with 5 beds 5 baths in main house and a barn converstion with two separate one bedroomed apartments in the grounds. This is a great property for large families or groups travelling together who still wish to have their own space. Villa Il Molinaccio dates back to the 10th Century when the villa was originally built as a watchtower. Completely restored and refurbished in 1999 preserving the property's history, yet bringing it up to date with all the comforts of today's modern age. The villa and apartments are set in five hectares of beautiful grounds with far reaching views towards the Castle of Meleto and the hilltop medieval village of Vertine. The large 'L' shaped swimming pool with diving board is set in a secluded part of the garden, surrounded by woodland. Terraces for outside dining can be found at both the front and the back of the property and near the pool where there is also a BBQ.

Villa Molinaccio has origins dating back to the 10th Century. It was originally built as a watchtower for defence and communication purposes between two castles. Over the following centuries the tower was destroyed and rebuilt in the traditional rural style. Evidence of the buildings past can still be found, especially in the external walls which are over a metre wide in places. The villa is in a great location for sightseeing with the historical centres of Arezzo, Cortona, Pisa, San Gimignano, Montalcino and Montepulciano, all within 1½ hours drive. The nearby town of Gaiole has a selection of restaurants and bars as well as supermarkets bakers, grocery stores, bakers, banks and chemist.

magnificient property, but bathrooms not clean and dishwaher unuseable.
nice area near firenze ,sienna and tipicals italians villages ( san gemignano, volterra, castellina in chianti, greve)
a lot of mosquitoes
a lot of insects in the exposed beams of the bedrooms wich make noise during the night.

Please note
Bathroom pipes referred to that were blocked have been unblocked.
Dishwasher pipes were also blocked and have been unblocked.
Sornano has many mosquitoes nets on the windows, at certain times of year protection spray is recommended for all regions of Tuscany when outside at night.
