It is a handsome and well appointed 'casa padrionale' farmhouse offering spacious accommodation, with its own private swimming pool, terrace and landscaped gardens of one and a quarter acre. Sleeps 12 guests in 6 generously sized double bedrooms, has 4 bathrooms, 2 ensuite, satellite TV and DVD and offers sweeping views from all four sides of the house and terraces as well as a 11m x 6m swimming pool. Enjoying a hillside position very close to the small villages of Cerqueto (3km) and Spina (2.5km) directly halfway between Perugia and Todi in Central Umbria, set in just over 1 acre of grounds with gardens, cypress trees and young olive trees. The property offers 360 degree views of the hills of Umbria and the capital city of Perugia beyond. It is a quiet and tranquil country setting ideal for children and a family holiday yet conveniently close to the many cultural, artistic and culinary delights.

Perugia is 20km to the north and Todi 20km to the south. As the house is so well positioned and has quick access to the E45 Superstrada many famous towns can be visited for just a morning or afternoon visit. Leaving you with the rest of the day to relax leisurely by the pool or enjoy a cool glass of wine from the local cantina. Assisi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Spello (restaurant il Molino), Lake Trasimeno (boat trips, wind surfing, child-friendly beach), are all within a 45 minute drive from the house. Cortona (the location for the film; Under the Tuscan Sun) Gubbio. Arezzo (the location for the town shots in the oscar-winning film La Vita e Bella) Citta di Castello, Terni and Norcia are all about 1 hour drive away. Also local are a variety of small hilltop towns which include; Torgiano (15km) - Wine museum of the Lungarotti Cantina, Montefalco (40km) – Famous for its textiles and wine (sagrantino), Bevagna (45km) – (restaurant Osteria del Podesta) and Trevi (50km).

Antognolla Golf Club: We are delighted to announce the re-opening of Antognolla golf course on 15th March 2008. Antognolla golf course is an 18 hole Robert Trent Jones Jnr championship golf course, situated in the heart of Umbria, 20 mins north of Perugia. The course will be open to local residents and their guests and will have a driving range, a small club house, a bar and changing facilities. There will be a range of golf clubs, buggies and carts available to hire. Guests staying at Casa Fontanelle will be eligible to play at Antognolla and we will be happy to make advance reservations on your behalf. Detailed driving directions will also be supplied. The journey time is 45mins.

When we renovated the farmhouse we have tried to respect local Umbrian quality and tradition but at the same time providing modern comforts to our guests. To have Italian guests say such wonderful things means a lot and is very special to me. I offer this translation for non-Italian speakers; What can I say about this fantastic place? My friends and I we spent an unforgettable weekend in a truly spectacular farmhouse. A farmhouse where nothing truly is missing; spacious and very elegant rooms, fantastic bathrooms, a kitchen supplied with every convenience. An inviting lounge and summer room with breathtaking views to well maintained gardens, terrace and a beautiful swimming pool. Everything has been cared for in every minute detail. We would also like to thank the owner, Signor Graham for his kindness, help and availability to respond to all our needs. We will surely return to Casa Fontanelle. Soon, very soon!

60th Birthday Celebration

I booked this villa to celebrate my wifes' 60th. birthday with 6 long standing friends (since 1955).Everything was perfect and exactly as described.The starter pack was first class, the villa incredibly spacious, and on entry we were welcomed with huge vases of flowers.Graham the owner could not have been more helpful,booking our flights and hire car for us, and an exceptional restaurant for our main 60th celebration which included an amazing cake.We also received a call from him within an hour of our arrival to ensure we were happy with everything.We tried each one of his restaurant recommendations which were all excellent.Behind the villa is a vineyard- Flavio Busti-we had a wonderful time tasting his wines.The villa is ideally situated, don't miss Assisi, which is stunning.We would recommend Casa Fontanelle to anyone.
