Praia da Luz / Luz holiday villa: Ferrel Verde Estate

We had a wonderful time in such a lovely location, it was very peaceful and the villa was superb, it had everything we needed just like a home from home! We were in the pool every day it was great to have a pool cover which kept the water warm and bug free! We loved the local supermarket Baptista and the resaturant close by which was very reasonable and cooked one of our favouite dishes Chicken Piri-Piri!! We would highly recommend this property to families and friends and we hope to be back soon.

My family of five stayed at Casa Sunnyside for two weeks and found the villa to be of a very high specification, and completely spotless! There was nothing that we felt we needed that wasn't already there! The pool was a lovely size and by putting on the cover at night (which only took a minute) it maintained its great temperature. The bedrooms had ceiling fans which were prefered by us (to the air-conditioning) at night and made the stay very comfortable.
The owners have gone out of their way to give lots of information on the local area: beaches, restaurants etc. As a town we preferred Lagos (which was only 10 minutes drive away) to Praia de Luz as it felt more cosmopolitan and atmospheric with many affordable restaurants with tables on the pavements and local buskers playing and singing.
We went to some local beaches...which were spectacular and virtually empty in comparison to the beach at Praia de Luz!
The car hire through Zit Auto, that was recommended by the owners, was good value and completely stress free. All the restaurants are good value and child friendly. We would particularly recommend the Sunday Jazz Brunch at the Fortress opposite the church at Praia de Luz at a cost of 25 euros a head (15 euros for children under 10 years of age although my two sons of 12 and 13 were charged this price)...the food was enjoyable and we stayed for the entire two and half hours whilst the children continually went back for seconds!
Our favourite local supermarket (which was well stocked) was on the outskirts of Lagos, so only 10 minutes drive away. We were caught out by assuming it would be open on Sundays... only to find out that it wasn't!
My husband had thought he might play the odd round of golf (especially as there were golf clubs available to borrow at the villa) however, he was too busy relaxing by the pool to drive the 5 minutes to the local course!!! - a sure sign that the villa was a very enjoyable place to be!!!
We would definitely recommend the villa to friends and should Portugal be our chosen destination for next year's holiday, we would certainly consider returning to Casa Sunnyside.

What a great place! Beatuiful location, just 5 min drive from Praia da Luz. The Villa it's self is gorgeous, very welcoming and homely, with everything you need. The pool is great to, we spent most of our time in it. We went in May, it was hot but there was a lovely breeze around the pool area.
The rooms are very spacious with huge built-in wardrobes and up-to-date bathrooms, and the overall cleanliness of the villa is emmaculate.

We also had a go on the BBQ wich is located around the far side of the villa, it took a bit to get going, but I suppose with a bit more practice we would have soon got the hang of it.

Well to summerise our holiday was great, the location, the views and there is always something to do.
