Walking and Pets:
This is a great area for walking, be it just a stroll around the vines and forest in the cool of the evening or for the serious walkers with quiet country roads and sleepy villages to find and explore. There is something for everyone. We have our own very laid back, quiet and gentle Lurcher dog called Saemus and Purdy our black cat, neither of whom will invade your 'space' unless specifically invited. In general we are happy to accommodate visiting dogs but would prefer if you contact us to discuss at the time of your initial enquiry. The aforementioned dog is always quite happy to join you on your walk.
Meals on Arrival:
We offer a meals on arrival service. After a long drive, we can provide a 3 course meal with wine or soft drinks, please ask for our menus and price list. Vegetarian meals also provided. Whenever possible our meals include local seasonal produce, some from our own vegetable garden together with locally produced wine. Eggs from our neighbour's chickens and produce from our garden is available to buy, subject to availability.
Local Colour:
During the summer months there are a variety of events and interesting attractions within the area to immerse you in French culture and social life. These range from numerous Vide Greniers, a cross between a boot sale and a flea market, a local market somewhere 7 days out of 7, village fetes, art exhibitions, music festivals and notably the historical re-enactment of the end of the 100yrs war at Castillon la Bataille. You will not have time to do it all !!!! We have details on site so we can advise you as to what is happening, when and where.
