Sao Bartolomeu de Messines holiday apartment

just returned from another wonderful stay at villa feliz,the owners were out there whilst we were and they could do enough for us and there other guests,the property as allways was immaculate and clean.,
it is well maintained and whilst we were ther ethe owners were refurbishing items that needed sprucing up ie; new pool chairs and tables ect new ironing boards and irons and all sorts of little nick knacks that you dont realise are there untill you want one,I have and will still recommend this property to friends and others,several of our friends have gone on our recco and still go,if you get out there try the lamb chops and fillets they are ab /fab taste like lamb used to taste,sorry if you are a veggie but the salads and fish are excellent
too ,it is easy to get around from villa feliz spain 1/2 hour beaches algarve 20 minutes,and if you want a train trip go to tunes or faro and catcha train to monte gordo or lagos ,it is so cheap not like uk and if you are over 60 i/2 price again,in fact if you are really adventurous take a trip by train to lisbon worth every penny,get out thee now prices will rise in the shops ect next year so enjoy, chill out and live longer.

my wife and I have stayed at vila feliz on numerous occassions,I work abroad a lot (middle east) and find portella de messines a relaxing friendly area, the villa is set away from the small village shop and bar (a two minute walk down a tranqil lane with the scent of orange lemon blossom and the local bird life for company) the villa/ apartment is well kept and cleaned to a very high standard, the locals are a welcoming friendly people ,who love to talk and practice english( especially the kids)
in messines the supermarkets are well stocked and price are cheaper than in faro, and alberfuria as are the bars , there are 4 well appointed restaraunts within a five minute drive of the property ,all are exceptional and the menus are mouthwatering with wild boar venison great steaks and for the veggis plenty of choice,
early spring is a great time to see the area almond blossoms like snow on the landscape , and summer is fantastic not too hot , but enoughto tempt you into the pool .overall a great place to stay one word of warning though ,once you have stayed you will want to be back for more.we took some friends last year they enjoyed ti so much they are returning in 09 with the family

Excellent location, well presented apartments with lovely gardens and pool area. Local supermarket very good and only 15 mins to the beaches and shops of Albufeira.

We also went to some local restaurants which were off the tourist beat and found the food and wine to be good and well priced.

Peaceful and tranquil setting, yet accessable, we were very pleased with our holiday choice.
