This is a lovely villa, set in 5 acres of grounds, including well maintained gardens and having superb views. It has a fenced heated pool (12 X 5 m) with an electrically operated cover, and a newly modernised tennis court. Most of the rooms lead out onto terraces through sliding glass patio doors. The surface area of 220sq m provides accommodation for 8 adults and 2 children - 4 double bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 2 bunk beds. There is a bathroom, 2 shower rooms and 3 toilets. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, and has access to the dining area, the outside terrace and the hallway. The sitting room benefits from 2 leather settees, a fireplace, and a large flat screen TV with Sky satellite. The quality of fittings and furniture throughout is to a very high standard. The garden surrounding the house and pool has a surface area of 1.5 acres and is regularly tended. The location is 1.5km. from Fayence but well away from the main road and very quiet.

The village of Fayence is about halfway between Draguignan and Grasse, and Nice Airport is only 50 minutes away. The whole region has stunning scenery and the charming hill villages (where parking is free) all have events and festivals during the summer. This is a fantastic holiday area and there is a lot to explore in the vicinity as well as further afield, with gorges, rocky crags and mountains in the distance. Good restaurants abound, and there is an excellent selection in the village of Fayence which is within walking distance. In Fayence there is also a good variety of shops, and there are markets 3 days a week. There is riding, golf and gliding nearby (all within 10 minutes), and also a large lake for water sports (20 minutes)

Quality and position: La Galejade is a well maintained property with high quality fittings, and is 1.5 km outside Fayence down a small road with no through traffic just off the route to the village of Mons. Although the villa is not overlooked and is very private, it is possible to walk to Fayence with all its shops and restaurants. On the last count there were 6 restaurants, 3 Pizzerias and 2 snack bars, as well as 4 bars, making it a lively village. It has, however, kept its provençal charm - with winding narrow streets and stone paved pavements. For those who wish to dine well there are 3 Michelin starred restaurants within 10 km.

Fantastic Villa

When we first arrived, the villa surpassed our expectations on every count. The photographs really do not do justice to the villa. The indoor living and dining area is much more spacious than we imagined and the standard of fittings, furniture and equipment throughout the house are all excellent, (the best of any holiday rental we have ever stayed in). This gives the feeling that you are staying in a well loved and fantastically maintained family home rather than a normal holiday house.
The outdoor garden areas are equally well thought out and equipped. The large shaded outdoor dining area with barbeque connects to both the kitchen and dining room and then onto the sun terrace overlooking the pool.
The pool is wonderful, easy to maintain and is very well fenced off for safety and peace of mind (we were with 2 toddlers and a baby), yet very well positioned and with spacious sunbathing areas to make the fencing quite unobtrusive.
The gardens and land around the property are beautiful and give seclusion as well as allow the fantastic views over the surrounding countryside.
The walk into town is 20-25 minutes, so a bit of a stretch with small children in the height of summer, but avoiding the heat of the day it is a good option for dining out and leaving the car behind.
The reception and introduction to the property and area by the house manager Tony was first class and very informative.
The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need and beyond. The children’s toys and games are particularly useful for families.

I had heard from some friends about this villa; it was even better than they had said. If you are English with small children, I cannot believe that there is a more suitable villa available anywhere in France. I know the owners have young grandchildren and they have made every effort and succeeded in making the property child-friendly. From the fenced-off swimming pool (which is not freezing cold!), C Beebies on the television to numerous toys and games; it will give parents a break knowing that their children are safe and happy! In addition, it is only a short flight to Nice and less than an hour's drive into the mountains to the house. Perfect - highly recommend it!

This is a lovely property, very spacious and cool, and well laid out. The property has extensive grounds and great views over countryside, whilst being well screened from its neighbours. The pool area has been recently refurbished and is ionised rather than clorinated, so a pleasure to swim in - no stinging eyes! We enjoyed being able to walk into the village, which has a great market in the square and lots of choice of restaurants. Its also a short drive to a lake with paddle boats to hire, and around 40 minutes to the Med, although we rarely left the peace and tranquility of the villa. We will definitely return.

Fantastic villa; well equipped and furnished; like home from home. Beautiful views and amazing tranquil location. Loads to do swimming, tennis, great garden....Village is lovely with good restaurants, market and shops and surrounding area has loads on - check out tourist office in village centre. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone - will return year on year!!
