Charenté single storey house with one double bedroom, and one twin bedroom, shower room with toilet and wash-basin, through lounge - kitchen area, with satellite TV/DVD, two easy chairs, bed-settee, plus table and chairs for 4 people. The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with gas hob, electric single oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. Outside there is a secluded tiled patio with table and chairs, sun-loungers and barbecue, facing an enclosed lawned garden. Bed linen and towels are provided. Situated seven miles from the seaside town of Royan and numerous surrounding beaches whilst ten miles from the Romanesque city of Saintes. Cognac and La Rochelle are enjoyable day trips. Golf, Sailing, Fishing and Horse-riding are close by. Fly to La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Poitiers or Limoges and pick up a hire car, or alternatively use the cross channel ferries. Rates: from £330 per week dependant on season (Saturday change over)

The house is located 3km east of Saujon, in a hamlet called Sauvajou. Saujon has 3 supermarkets, 6 restaurants, 2 pizza houses, main shopping street with banks and bars, two parks, swimming pool, tennis courts and boule alleys. The area is famous for fish. Saintes(16km ), on the River Charente, is a Romanesque city of 35000 population. River trips are available to Cognac, and Jonzac, or boats for local hire. The city has a 12th century abbey and cathedral. Cognac (50km), is the heart of the brandy world! Trips around the Martell and Hennessey distilleries are a must. Royan (10km) offers a seaside town and port, with ferry to the Medoc, numerous beaches, fun-fares, bars, restaurants, shops and many leisure facilities. La Rochelle (60 km ) is a picturesque town and port. A place to people watch whilst having a meal or drink in one of the many fish restaurants. The Grand Cote at La Palmyre, some 20km away, has a 5km stretch of golden sands, and an International Zoo with 1400 animals
