We've restored our Quinta (small farmhouse) using local materials to create a relaxing, comfortable and characterful venue for discerning visitors. Situated in a quiet, sandy lane with a lovely private swimming pool (naturally cleaned), orchard with olive, carob and almond trees and a herb garden. There is a covered pergola for outdoor dining and relaxing and a BBQ and wood-burning oven. Inside, there are 3 double bedrooms and a children's room, 3 bathrooms, modern kitchen with range cooker, living room with internet access and i-pod base. Close by are lovely, bustling and historic Portuguese towns and villages, great uncrowded beaches and the airport is only 20 minutes away. The Spanish border is 30 minutes drive and the villages along the border river are worth exploring. We have a recycling policy & recommend a local organic farm for produce (tofu, vegetables). There are local healthy eating restaurants, and daily markets. Perfect for families looking for a quality holiday

Quinta do Ruperto is situated on a quiet sandy lane. It is quite secluded ( a few old Portuguese houses further down the lane), but a short drive to Moncarapacho or Quelfes. The traditional fishing port of Olhao is ten minutes away, with its resident storks, marina, ferry to the islands and fresh vegetable markets. The nature reserve of Ria Formosa is close by too. Highly recommended. The unspoilt and uncrowded beaches of eastern algarve are also within easy reach as are the Historic towns of Tavira and Faro. Inland, you can visit the cork oak, strawberry trees and Portugal's amazing wild flowers and bird life.
