This very spacious flat of 632 sq. ft. is on the garden floor of this magnificent Victorian house in the heart of Notting Hill, a short walk from Notting Hill Gate underground station and with the vibrant Portobello market nearby as well as a wide selection of restaurants and bars. The flat has 2 bedrooms, one double with a 5ft wrought iron bed and french doors leading out to the garden, and the other with a single wrought iron bed. In the very large sitting room there are 2 Ercol studio couches that make very comfortable single beds. Holland Park and Kensington Gardens are both a short walk away and Notting Hill has some of the most interesting fashion shops in London in the Ledbury Road/Westbourne Grove area which is very close.

This flat is in Notting Hill which is uniquely situated to provide a wide variety of interesting places to visit. Notting Hill is famous for its antiques market in Portobello Road which has its main day as Saturday but during the rest of the week Portobello Road is home to some fascinating antiques and retro shops, a fruit and veg market now selling organic produce and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday a brilliant flea market. A short walk from the flat are the fashion shops of Ledbury Road and Westbourne Grove where you can find Paul & Joe, Paul Smith, Joseph, Whistles, Ted Baker, Ralph Lauren and many others. As well as this there are some fantastic restaurants and food shops where you can buy ready cooked food, including Tom Conran's deli and countless others. The Electric Cinema has a great restaurant as well as the most comfortable cinema 2-seater sofas in London.

Nearby Attractions: The West End of London with its theatres, galleries, museums and shops are a very short tube or bus ride away and closer still is Hyde Park which has facilities for horse-riding, roller blading or just strolling. In the middle of the park is the Serpentine Gallery which has regular exhibitions of modern artists and is itself as fascinating building. On the south side of Hyde Park is the Royal Albert Hall with the recently restored Albert Memorial opposite, two stunning examples of high Victorian architecture as well as the venue for regular concerts.

Museums: In South Kensington which is also a short tube or bus ride are the famous Victoria & Albert Museum, The Natural History Museum and The Science Museum, all magnificent buildings in their own right and housing some wonderful exhibits. Most of the big museums and galleries in London now have a late evening where you can visit after normal closing times and even have a meal.

Everything went very smoothly and Hilary was very helpful and responsive before and during the stay. The unit was very nice and worked well for two adults and three teenagers(though bathroom is very small). Portobello Market is just steps away and the Notting Hill Gate underground (which is on the Circle Line) is a pleasant walk away.

Flat where my family stayed for my wedding

First and foremost, the location is absolutely charming!! It is literally at the top of Portobello Road, close to many shops and restaurants. You can literally open the front door and wander around Portobello in search of antiques, gifts and delicious fod. And it is also close to Notting Hill Gate tube station and the Ladbroke Road tube station. My parents (age 65+) and brothere stayed in this flat whilst here for my wedding and they were very pleased with this place... nice size bedrooms, back garden, kitchen, living room - all these are more than they would have gotten in any hotel room! Their only negative was the bathroom - it is quite small fitted with only a shower. However, it certainly served the purpose while they were here so no big worries really. Beautiful property located in a stunning area of London - we were more than pleased because of the aforementioned but also because of the very low price. **On a separate note, the owner that I dealt with for the property was absolutely lovely and really helpful.

Lovely apartment, great position

This apartment is exactly as described - cosy, clean, bright, and well-appointed. The bathroom is extremely small, but the little garden is a lovely bonus.
The owner is very friendly, and as she lives upstairs is also readily available to help when asked.
The position is fabulous. Portobello Road is 3 doors away and is full of places to eat and shop, and of course, there's the world famous market which deserves its reputation. The tube is close, and is a circle & central line station making access to all London's sights very easy.
We would definitely recommend this apartment to our friends, and would love to return ourselves.
