The house was exceptionally well equipped - the owners have thought of everything. It was very clean and comfortable too and situated in a great location, just a short walk from the sea and the town (albeit up quite a steep hill!). The town is quite lively, with live music every evening, but we couldn't really hear it from the house. There are lots of good places to eat and some lovely bars right on the beach. Shopping was easy - a large supermarket on the edge of town and smaller shops in the town centre. We had a fantastic holiday - as did our two teenage sons. The beach was never too crowded and the sea was lovely to swim in - and the boys enjoyed swimming to the pontoon and joining in the sport of throwing people off! They also enjoyed nearby Aqualand and the range of activities on offer in Banyuls (eg boules, crazy golf, sailing, windsurfing). There are some lovely beaches nearby, a short drive down the coast - rocky coves. Collioure a short drive to the north is stunning, though crowded. We didn't explore inland, but with the Pyrenees so close we will next time - and there will definitely be a next time!
