Live like a star

Want to live like a star? Well this is the place to stay, the minute you walk in to the Essex House you know this is no ordinary hotel.
Take the lift to the 31st floor, enter this suite and experience the New York lifestyle, the photographs of the apartment just do not do it justice.
This suite is enormous, a large living room, comfy furniture, bright and airy, and very clean compared to some places we have stayed at in New York.
Highlight was the large TV which was totally unexpected and the sofa which you just fall into because its so big and comfy. Especially after a day of sightseeing and walking everywhere.
You want for nothing in this suite, a well equipped kitchen, decent sized bathroom with a full size bath and shower (again very clean), a huge bedroom with the biggest bed in the world in it (it has to be 6 foot across), that is just so good to sleep in. Plenty of storage space for your clothes.
Lots of clean linen and towels plus extra ones if you needed them, and obviously a non smoking suite as we could not see any evidence of a smoker being there.
This is a very clean place to stay and cannot be recommended enough.
Situated just across the road from Central Park and never too far from a tourist attraction plus close to lots of places to eat, Essex House is a superb place to stay at when visiting New York.
We found a supermarket just 2 blocks away to the rear of the hotel, and a great Irish bar just around the corner.
We cannot fault the customer service we obtained from the owners, they where very helpful when we initially booked nearly 18 months ago and every email was answered within 24 hours of sending.
Staying on the 31st floor does have its advantages, such as less noise to be heard, good views of surrounding buildings and their roof terraces. But best of all the lift which you get into that goes from lobby to 20th floor before it starts counting the floors, as it does not stop between Lobby and 20th.
