La Maison Blanche is situated in the beautiful region of the Perigord Noir in the Dordogne valley, close to the medieval towns of Souillac, Sarlat and Rocamadour. La Maison Blanche provides very comfortable accommodation for up to 8 people. The 4 double bedrooms, on the first floor, all have ensuite facilities with either bath or “wet-room” showers. Two of the bedrooms have doors opening onto a balcony with wonderful views of the valley of the Dordogne. The third bedroom also overlooks the valley while bedroom number 4 has direct access to a terrace leading to the swimming pool. The garden features a new 8 x 4 metre salt water swimming pool (no chemicals and sore eyes) and the large terrace around the pool provides lots of space for sunbathing. The living area on the ground floor features a woodburning fireplace, comfortable seating and satellite TV. The spacious dining area and well equipped kitchen leads onto an outside terrace and barbecue area – perfect for eating out.

Cazoules is a small village along the valley of the Dordogne between Souillac and Sarlat. In the village you will find a very good boulangerie, 2 bar / restaurants and a post office. The Dordogne River with its beach is about 1 km from the village. La Maison Blanche is situated on a hillside overlooking the village with uninterrupted views over the Dordogne Valley. The medieval town of Sarlat is about 20 kms to the west and the market town of Souillac is 5 kms to the east. There are numerous small beaches where you can hire a kayak (don’t forget to take a picnic) to explore the Dordogne. Cazoules is ideally placed as a base to tour the picturesque and stunning valleys of the rivers Dordogne, Lot and Vezere and some of the most spectacular sites in France, including Rocamadour, Les Eyzies and the caves of Lascaux are not far away. Take the road north towards Brive in the Correze and discover the beautiful lake, Le Lac du Causse at Chasteaux with its beaches and water sports.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A deposit amounting to 30% of the rental cost is required with your booking and the balance is due 8 weeks before your arrival. These can be paid by UK cheque in sterling or French Euro cheque.
    We ask for a security deposit of 300 euros or the equivalent in sterling payable on your arrival. This will be repaid (less any costs for damages and breakages) within 2 weeks after your departure.
    Electricity, gas, bed linen and towels are included in the rental price.
    Cleaning is included in the rental price but we would respectably ask you to leave our holiday home in the condition you would expect to find it.

    Arrivals are from 4.00 pm and departures before 10.00 am. Arrival and departure days in high and peak seasons are Saturday. During the low and mid season we can be flexible with the times and change over days.

  • Each of the 4 bedrooms has its own ensuite facility. All bathrooms are tiled with luxurious Italian ceramic tiles on floors and walls and each is equipped with new toilets, vanity units and thermostatic shower controls and radiators. The 3 ensuite shower rooms are “wet rooms” . The 4th has a bath / shower with toilet and vanity unit. .

  • The bedrooms, all situated on the first floor are newly decorated and tastefully furnished ,spacious and equipped with large wardrobes, bedside tables, table lamps, chests of drawers, mirrors, hairdryers etc. The two twin bedded rooms have direct access to a balcony with magnificent views across the Dordogne Valley. The third bedroom with double bed also has views over the valley. Bedroom number 4 with double bed has access to an outside terrace, the garden and swimming pool. Bed linen and towels (excluding pool towels) are provided and changed each Saturday. The bedrooms have radiators fitted for out of season holidays.

Golf: Exploring the Valley of the Dordogne combined with a few days of golf can be the ideal way to spend your holiday especially out of the peak holiday season. Within 15 minutes drive of Cazoules, Souillac Golf Club provides you with a very challenging 18 hole golf course. Taking the valley road towards Sarlat you will find the pretty village of Vitrac with its riverside 9 hole golf course La Domaine de Rochebois – it’s not as easy as it looks. Venture a little further into Brive (30 minutes by car) and you will find the Golf de Brive Planchetorte. Avoid the little stream winding its way around most of the course and you should have an enjoyable day's golf. Travelling a little further on from Brive, along the road towards Tulle, you will come across the lovely little monastery village of Aubazine with its quaint village square and breathtaking scenery. Nearby is the Golf Club de Coiroux with its beautiful 27 hole golf course, 25 hectare lake and beach, horse riding and restaurant. About 1 hour’s drive from Cazoules. For the really keen golfers, get up early and set of for Limoges (just over 1 hour’s drive north along the A20 motorway. Just outside the town is one of my favourite golf courses, Golf de la Porcelaine on the slopes of the Vienne Valley. You won’t be disappointed. Ask us about discounted green fees

Hi Tony and Pam

On behalf of a very happy family, I just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful stay at the White House. Your description on-line is exactly as the house is, and we loved it! From our arrival and your warm greeting, to... the comfort of the villa, enjoyment and fun we had over the two weeks, the sun, the pool, and of course 'the crossiants' we would highly recommend a stay here.

Having en suite bathrooms for each bedroom was perfect, the different dining areas worked really well - breakfast on the terrace, lunch by the pool and supper - where ever, worked really well!

We did a canoe trip down the Dordogne - fabulous, a few drives through the local area - beautiful, shopping in Brive - bit disappointing, visited a couple of couple of Chateau's and their gardens - wonderful, walks around the area and to the river and mostly...we loved staying at 'home'. We didn't even watch tv, and that was with 2 14yr olds! (we did take and use our Wi though)

Simply - we spent time around the pool as a family, relaxing and enjoying not having anything to do, other than collect the crossiants (hihgly recommend the bakery in St Julian de Lampon), food shopping in Souillac, tanning and doing nothing. We did love the books, and read a number of them during our stay - thanks.

The only question we were left with - is which champagne do you drink, we searched high and low for it!

It felt like 'our home' for a couple of weeks - wonderful.

Cozy in Cazoules

We spent a week at La Maison Blanche with family - we were a large group, teenage son, adult son with girlfriend, and adult daughter with husband, and everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously. The house is nicely situated for excursions to the many sights and attractions of the Perigord Noir. The house itself is very comfortable and clean - the ensuite bathrooms are a real bonus when travelling with a large crew! The saltwater pool was a treat for all - it truly beats the heat. Thank you to our helpful and accomodating hosts who always had suggestions for great restaurants and activities!

Lovely Villa with Excellent Pool

We had a great week staying with our 3 teenagers, who all enjoyed the pool, spacious bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. The villa is well furnished, with wonderful views across the valley. Pool is clean and well maintained, with excellent outdoor furniture and sun shades. We also enjoyed the table tennis table. The owners are very helpful and welcoming. Enjoyed canoeing on the river, caves at Lacave and visiting Rocamadour. Also excellent lake with Beach about 40 minute drive away near Brive. We travelled by Eurostar to Paris and then SNCF train to Brive which worked well. We may well return again, highly recommended.
Owner's Response: We are always happy to learn that our guests appreciated the facilities on offer at La Maison Blanche. The table tennis table has recently been acquired and it has proven to be very popular. A visit to the Lac de Causse at Brive is well worth while.

Large attractive house with excellent amenities.

A group of six of us (all over 60's) shared this accomodation for two weeks. It is a well furnished, comfortable house, and every bedroom has its own en-suite; we found it perfect for our requirements. The lovely pool was a great asset and there are plenty of loungers, parasols etc on the terrace. The owners, Tony & Pam (plus Daisy their dog), are only too willing to help you with anything you may require. We would all be happy to spend another holiday in La Maison Blanche.

La Maison Blanche is actually exactly as described in the advert - there are no disappointments upon arrival. The bedrooms all have en-suites and are very well furnished. Downstairs is cool and spacious with well-equipped kitchen. There is a satellite TV. We would have liked internet but that was not a particular problem. The pool area is in full sun and there are plenty of loungers - there is even a spot for quiet but shady reading overlooking the pool. The owners are accessible and accommodating. I heartily recommend this beautiful cottage.
