PRIVATE TERRACE IS SPECTACULAR!!! Above the famous bay of Villefranche, the studio is within walking distance to the beach and Villefranche itself with its many shops & restaurants. The property boasts a large planted, south facing terrace, sloping towards the unique view over the bay towards Cap Ferrat & the sea. One can admire the comings and goings of the many yachts and at night the twinkling lights of the ships and the distant Cap Ferrat create that special world renowned 'French Riviera' ambiance. The modern kitchen is fully equipped. In addition to a dining table inside, there is a seating area for 4 and outside two more dining tables for 4 persons. The flat is southfacing and very sunny and warm in the winter. The flat has its own attributed parking space close to the entrance of the building. The pool has stunning seaviews. Notes: The flat is fully equipped. Plenty of attractive glassware and china. New oven, fridge, washing machine, oven/microwave and hob, coffee machine, iron and ironing board, large wide screen TV and DVD player. Television has English satellite reception. The flat is owned and managed by the owner of one of Beaulieu's finest restaurants and included in the price is a dinner for two from the daily menu, excluding drinks. A bottle of champagne will be in the fridge when you arrive. Telephone calls to USA and most European landlines (will not call cell phones) are free of charge. We have an additional unit in this building on the same floor just down the hall. This unit is also a studio and sleeps two. Infrastructure and Public transport: Public transport is very good in the region. The apartment is close to the old town, where you can find all daily essentials: very good butchers, bakeries, fishmonger, little supermarket, wine shop, flower shop, newsagent, etc, as well as a multitude of restaurants and cafes. There is a bus to Nice bus terminal from nearby several times an hour all day long. From there you can connect to a vast network of regional buses, ie. St Paul de Vence, Biot, the mountains behind Nice, La Turbie etc. Villefranche also has a train station with several trains an hour to Monaco or on to Italy, and the other way to Nice, Cannes or Antibes. There are several taxi companies available in the village. There are two car rental agencies where you can rent on short notice a car for any length of time.

Walking - Culture - Museums: There are many walks in the area, for example around Cap Ferrat, approx 1.5 hours. The walk to Beaulieu sur is approx 20 minutes. The area on the coast behind Villefranche is immediately quite mountainous and there are many trails which can be explored or hikes to be done with guides, both in summer and winter season. There are many museums and cultural institutions in the area, based on the rich cultural heritage of theregion (Nice: Museum of Modern Art, Matisse Museum, Chagall Museum; St. Paul de Vence: Foundation Maeght; Antibes: Picasso Museum; various Chapels with murals from Cocteau; St. Jean: Villa Ephrussi Rothschild, Villa Kerylos, many seasonal art exhibitions and festivals). The local tourist office has up to date information on all of this. There is also a Zoo on Cap Ferrat.

Water sports: There are many brokers locally who offer boats (sailing or motor) for rent, daily and long term, with or without skipper. Several places offer watersports such a water-skiing, wake boarding, pedalos, kite surfing or fun trips for children on plastic floaters. The beaches of Villefranche, and also La Petite Afrique and La Baie des Bourmis in Beaulieu all offer sun-bed rentals, full restaurant service, shower, changing rooms, water ski, wake boarding, windsurfing etc. The Beaches of Eze, Nice and St. Jean Cap Ferrat are only minutes drive away.

We were extremely impressed with the location, the amazing views, and the cleanliness of the studio! It is a darling apartment and we found ourselves so comfortable there.
Danka and Jacque were incredible hosts and made us feel very welcome. We very much enjoyed the food at Les Agaves and found it very charming.

Better than pictures

This is a perfect stay when visiting southern France.
The standard in the studio is perfect and includes all facitilities you need in a home. It is even better than the pictures. The studio is a short walk from the centre of Villefranche and give the guest a really nice view over the bay. We used the terrace most of the time we were there. The studio is clean and well taken care of. The host family is great and don´t forget the dinner at Les Agaves. When you are there, spend time in Bealieau. It is beatiful! Thank you Natalia, Danka and Teddy for this time! We hope to see you soon again.

BEST PLACE TO STAY!

I feel very fortunate to have picked such a wonderful apartment for our vacation! The views of the bay are spectacular; the patio is enchanting as is the interior of the apartment and the pool is lovely (and seldom used by others). All the equipment you could possibly use is available, including washing machine. The apartment, building and grounds are spotless and well maintained. Discovering wine, milk and coffee in the apartment upon our arrival was a welcome surprise! The Murphy bed was extremely comfortable, as were the pillows. The shower wonderful; plenty of hot water and nice towels and linens.
The restaurant, Les Agaves, was a special treat, not to be missed! Danka is a delightful, funny, thoughtful person, as is her daughter, Natalia (in the USA), who coordinated our rescue at 11pm the night of our arrival after discovering our text messages were undelivered.
Villefranche is possibly the nicest town on the Riviera, the beach rare for being sand; close to Nice and Monaco. There's plenty to do; great restaurants, shopping, sightseeing. Getting around without a car is no problem, though the walk back up the hill from town might be a bit much for some. The train station is a short walk away and very inexpensive, so visiting the other towns is easy. There is some noise from the street at night which you might not notice unless you're used to country quietness like us. I recommend a drive into the mountains; it's easy to rent a car in Nice at the train station.
I would recommend this apartment without reservation to anyone who wants to experience the best the Riviera has to offer, and a chance to stay in a lovely apartment, hosted by the nicest people. Thanks, Danka and Natalia!

40th birthday/monaco grandprix

My husband & I spent a week in the studio during the 2009 Monaco Grand Prix. We had a great time! The studio has an AWESOME view, the bus line is very close and it has everything you need. We had fun cooking several meals in the kitchen. I recommend spending time in the pool the garden is lush. The old village of Villefranche is a great place to explore. We would come back to this studio again!

The Perfect Studio

I know the south of france pretty well and already knew my idea of the perfect appartment in Villefranche - one with a large terrace, view of the sea, walking distance to the beach, swimming pool, close enough to shops to be able to buy fresh bread in the morning without taking the car, no noise from trains or passing cars, sheets and towels included, and, one i could enjoying spending a week actually staying in. To my surprise, I got all of that and more - Danka the proprietor is very thoughtful, she'll make you feel right at home as soon as you arrive and has thought of every detail in the flat. Small touches I really appreciated like coffee and milk in the fridge and some biscuits for when we arrived that morning, fresh towels, bathrobes, beach towels, books on the cote d'azur region lying around, land line telephone and other things I can't remember now but noted as very useful. Its a great little studio and I especially loved having drinks and dinner on the terrace in the evening with panoramic views of the bay. I recommend you make a visit to Les Agaves restaurant run by Danka and her husband Jacky its really very good food and was recently written up by Michael Winner in the Sunday Times. This is a perfect place if you're looking to spend all your time in the appartment or its to be used as a base whilst you explore the region. You are staying in one of the most glamorous parts of the cote d'azur, you won't be disappointed.
