Vista Del Aguila, Moraira, El-Portet:
Vista Del Aguila is situated in a penninsula with its own microclimate, which tends to escape extremes of weather. Often when it is raining inland, Moraira remains dry. The Sea breeze is welcoming when the weather is unbearably hot and great weather can be guaranted from May to October. The world of health organisation rates this area as one of the healthiest in Europe, due to its climate and lack of industry.
El-Portet is a small cove with a sandy beach with crystal clear water which shelves out gently and is ideal for chlildren. There are many hidden coves. El-Portet has plenty of restuarants and it is a 5 minute walk from Moraira town and marina. It is very attractive with a lovely sea front and promenade, a very good variety of shops and restuarants catering for all tastes. There is a market held on a Friday which is well worth a visit. The main time for festivals is June/July when the famous moors and christians festival takes place in the town and on the beach
Places to visit:
There are many places to visit nearby catering for all tastes. Javea (approx 20 mins) a family resort which has a good beach and port area. Denia further up Valencia, about a 30 min drive has a lively port area and ferries across to the balearics. Gandia and Olivia further up from Denia both have long stretches of sandy beaches and are excellent for wind surfing. Other nearby places include Gata De Gorge, Teulada, Benissa, Benidorm, with its long stretches of sandy beaches and close by are the attractions of Terra Mitica (theme park, spains equivalent to Disneyland), Aqualandia (waterpark) and Mundamar (sealife attraction) as well as Vergel Safari park. Going inland is an absoloute must if you like mountain scenery. Drive through the Jalon valley and the lovely waterfalls at the El Algar and then onto Guadalest an impressive rock formation with stunning views. The cities of Valencia and Alicante are also well worth a visit with their old buildings, museams and gallerys.
