Perfect for relaxation

We very rarely return to the same holiday destination, but did just that with La Tauperie this year after such a good experience the previous summer. We had 5 teenagers in tow, yet it was still a relaxing week, enjoying days by the pool and easy dining in the covered patio. The villa more than matched our expectations. It is scrupulously clean and well set up for holiday guests. The light and space, together with the stunning views, help make this a special property. The owners have thought hard about what helps make people feel comfortable in a rental property, such as a well equipped kitchen and plenty of books to read - it really feels like a home - and lots of detailed information on local activities and restaurants is provided. We liked the market at Fayence and visited several vineyards, plus some spectacular neighbouring hilltop villages. There is plenty of good walking. Above all, however, this is a place to relax and unwind. Don't expect any nightlife or other entertainment within walking distance: the villa is several miles from the nearest town, although it doesn't feel remote. We succumbed to spending a day in Cannes (about 40 minutes away) with our accompanying teenagers, but interestingly they did not crave more excitement than this and were very content to stay put, especially given the impressive stock of DVDs and games for evening amusement. We would highly recommend this villa for a family holiday, especially with older children, who can have a sense of independence in the separate bedroom wing.
Owner's Response: Yes, we quite agree and if you are looking for heaving nightlife and loud discos, this is not the place for you. But if you crave a complete change of pace, a beautiful location and lots to help you unwind and relax...here it is!
