Coast/Beach:
Polis beach and Latchi beach/Marina are only 5 mins drive. Polis and Latchi are now connected by a new coastal walkway and cycle way.
Latchi is famous for its fresh-fish restaurants overlooking the marina.
Polis beach has tavernas and bars for sea-front lunches and drinks and also has sun-loungers for hire.
Further attractions:
Within easy distance to the Akamas peninsula for walking, bird watching, cycling etc... Bikes can be hired locally.
Polis is well catered for restaurants, tavernas etc.. as well as local shops, banks and supermarkets. Donkey trekking can be booked at the complex.
For nature lovers; the conservation area of Lara bay is a short car journey away. Lara bay is a protected beach and one of the few areas in the Mediterranean where Loggerhead and Green Turtles lay their eggs.
Local villages:
The Paphos area has a number which are within easy access and are well worth exploring.
Coastal villages such as Argaka and Pomos together with inland villages like Kathikas, Steni and Drousia offer fresh local fare at a fraction the cost of the main tourist areas. Many are proud of their locality and have small museums giving an insite into local crafts and traditions.
The mountain villages such as Kathikas and Drousia also offer an escape from the coastal heat on the hottest days.
Golf:
Cyprus currently has 3 international class golf courses with several more in planning. The closest course to Polis is Aphrodite Hills which is around 20 minutes drive away. Further details can be provided on request.
