The beautiful 17th century holiday house with its two cosy and romantic holiday apartments is located directly at the river Rur opposite the market square of the idyllic historic old town of Monschau. The romantic and cosy enclosed apartment 'Directly at the river Rur' is in the 1st and 2nd floor, has 2 double bedrooms and is for up to 5 guests. The cosy enclosed apartment 'Above the slate roofs of Monschau' is hidden away in the 3rd floor and attic, has 1 double bedrrom and can accomodate up to 4 guests. Both apartments have satellite TV, fire places for cosy winter evenings, oak parkett floor, beautiful views over the river Rur and historic buildings of Monschau including its castle and monastery. The little shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and bakery are all just one minute walk away. The romantic and cosy apartment 'Directly at the river Rur' is for up to 5 guests and consists of a rustic, large open plan living room with kitchen in the 1st floor and two double bed rooms and a bathroom in the 2nd floor. The beatiful apartment has plenty of character and is kept in the original rustic style with interior half-timbered walls and ceilings with original oak beams and impressive original slate chimney. The living room is divided by a small bar from the kitchen. Comfort is given with a modern kitchen in solid wood, oak parquet floor, satellite TV, stereo system, spaceous bedrooms- and bathroom and central heating. There is also a games and book selection for young and old. The appartment is enclosed, has its own entrance and interior beech staircase to the 2nd floor. It has pretty views over the river Rur, the market square with all its historic houses, monastry and castle.

The holiday apartment is in the centre of the idyllic old town of Monschau in the Eifel in Germany and is the ideal starting point to explore its hidden alleys, little shops and attractions or to go for hikes in the surrounding countryside of outstanding natural beauty. Monschau is located close to the borders of Netherlands and Belgium. The nearest city is Aachen (30 km) which is a very attractive university town. Cologne is one hour drive away and Brussels 1,5 hours. The Eifel national Park and the nature reserve High Venn are also nearby. For children there are also plenty of attractions such as the animal park Hellental with birds of prey show (15 km), the swimming pool Monschau with its long water slide and sauna (1 km), the 750 m long summer toboggan run in Monschau-Rohren (5 km), the ski and seldging centre in Monschau-Rohren or the bicycle tracks on the old railway tracks of the Vennbahn in Monschau-Kalterherberg (5 km).
