The Pole House offers a unique retreat for a perfect holiday, just a short distance from the golden sands of Godrevy and Hayle Towans. Built on Douglas fir poles this enchanting, detached Japanese style house is situated in a cul-de-sac in the pretty village of Angarrack. An open tread staircase leads up to the veranda which encircles the house, a perfect platform from which to admire the charming garden and fish pond below. The interior is constructed from an assortment of natural woods. A splendid high vaulted ceiling rising high above the contemporary-styled open plan living-room, kitchen area and galleried double bedroom, warmed by a wood burning stove. On the lower ground floor an open plan studio double bedroom can be accessed by a separate external entrance. This charming room with overhead beams has a kitchen area and a very appealing Japanese bath.

Stunning and original house in pretty village

We spent our 40th wedding anniversary in this beautiful wooden house. The indian summer meant many days spent on the huge sandy beaches at Hayle and Godrevy.

St Ives is a park and ride (on a coastal train) from Lelant Saltings and we loved the Tate. Eat at the Saltwater Cafe on our anniversary and the meal and ambience were fantastic. The Penlee Gallery in Penzance is well worth a visit.

Angarrack itself is a lovely spot - near to everywhere but very countrified with just one pub. You need a car.

Excellent rental property

I recently stayed at the Pole House and had a very enjoyable holiday. The property is, in real life, as good as it looks in the photos. The overall description of the property and location was accurate. It was clean and well equipped with all the essential mod cons. The house was very warm with plenty of hot water for showers etc. The rental process was professional; the owner responded to emails quickly and their personal website excellent (allowing the use of PayPal). The locally based housekeeper was very friendly and presented the house beautifully for our arrival. The property is located in a small Cornish village (with a very nice pub which serves food in the evenings) which is only a 5 min drive from the main A roads and shops (including Costa coffee and M&S [with a Food Hall]). Most of the local attractions are just 30 minutes drive away so the house serves as a great base to visit this end of Cornwall. Although we did not visit the Towans (weather was not permitting!), this beach looked terrific. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
