4 bedrooms villa with terrace

Situated on a stretch of coast between Catania and Taormina, proudly surveying its estate from the crest of a hill is Villa Bagolaro, an 18th Century country house in a stunning and perfectly peaceful setting between the sea and Mount Etna. Indoor and outdoor living combine seamlessly due to the bright and welcoming rooms and their communication with the terraces. It would be difficult to ask for a more delightful setting. The living areas and bedrooms of Villa Bagolaro are all on one floor (the first floor). Villa Bagolaro consists of 4 bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, small tub, bidet and toilet, a large living area with fireplace and a double sofa bed, another living area with a fireplace, a kitchen with wood oven and next to it a dining room with dining table. Outside there is also a terrace with seating, deckchairs, extra toilet and a barbeque.Because of the presence of 2 fireplaces, the house offers a pleasant stay also during the few cold weeks of the short Sicilian winter.

Villa Bagolaro is an excellent base from which to explore eastern Sicily. The villa lies halfway between Catania and Taormina and just seven kilometres from Acireale (a pretty little city, built on a plateau of lava, that is known for its Baroque churches). Gardini Naxos, a seaside resort with beautiful sandy beaches, is just 25 kilometres from Villa Bagolaro. Beside it we find Taormina ‘the pearl of the Mediterranean’ and the most exclusive seaside resort in Sicily. Its ancient Greek theatre is world famous for its extraordinary panoramic views. Santa Maria la Scala and Aci Trezza are pleasant seaside villages near Villa Bagolaro. In the village Santa Tecla, a few kilometres from Praiola, is the renown, but quiet cheap, fish restaurant “Da Lorenzo”. 2 km from Villa Bagolaro is the big supermarket 'Iper'. Also 2 km from the house is Carubba, a town, with several shops and squares.

The villages of Etna, such as Trecastagni, Zafferana Etnea e Randazzo, are famous for their ancient lava flows, the architecture of their seventeenth century churches, their delicious local produce and the hospitality of the villagers. Situated 700 metres above sea level, they are a favourite retreat of the city dwellers who, in summer are in search of cool, fresh air, while in winter are in search of snow for skiing. Few people are aware that Etna is a popular location for skiers in winter. On some glorious days in winter, it’s even possible to ski the frozen slopes in the morning enjoying a wonderful panoramic view of the Mediterranean, and then, the same afternoon, go and sunbathe on the beaches below!

Historic and welcoming villa with space and views

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Villa Bagolaro - seven family members ranging from 12 to 80. Making arrangements before our visit was easy, we received a warm welcome when we arrived, and the house and surroundings were even nicer than can be portrayed in photos. The house is spacious and has wonderful high ceilings, you can see Etna as well as the ocean, and are surrounded by citrus trees. Next door is a plant nursery. In February we were comfortable and enjoyed breakfast on the terrace, grilling on the terrace, and warm fires at night. The house was clean and well maintained, and the kitchen worked well for cooking. People who use alot of electricity might find the electrical system limiting, and we couldn't all take showers in the same evening, but we were perfectly happy. We had great visits including Etna, Taormina, Syracusa, and Carnival in Acireale. Small markets for bread, and groceries were convenient, and a large supermarket is not far. All seven of us enthusiastically recommend this property!

Villa Bagolora review

The house was as descripted in the add, clean, ready and we had a warm welcome by the owner and his wife.
We enjoined our stay very much and found the nearby beach very attractive. There is local shopping possibilities within 1 km, and easy access to tracking on Mt. Etna area.
The house has no aircondition, but even at midsommer we found the indoor temparature acceptable and the outdoor terraces provides shade at all time of day. The lemon trees in the garden gives a freshness to the air.
So, we can warmly recommend this property

Very Good Property

I have been there with family and friends for a week and can assure you that the proerty is excellent. It has a massive garden giving ample space to children playing and althought the furniture is rustique it is ok. What I suggest is that a better antenna is installed for TV - and am sure that host will do it cause they are very cordial
