Tranquil riverside cottage in the Cevennes National Park
This is a tranquil ,romantic place to relax and unwind .The cottage is located in a picturesque riverside hamlet in a valley full of apple orchards.The old fashioned countryside of the area has a fascinating history .The National Park of the Cevennes has marvelous opportunities for walking ,cycling ,canoeing and river bathing . .The variety of flowers ,birds and wildlife is remarkable and enjoyable at all seasons. The cottage was converted and restored by its architect owner.and furnished with local antiques. It consists of a Living Room with open fireplace and log burning stove, large dining table, and sofa bed. French doors open directly onto a large terrace running the length of the house and overlooking the river and orchards This has an outdoor dining table and 4 chairs. The kitchen is all electric, with hob, small oven/grill, and refrigerator. On the first floor,the bedroom which overlooks the river has a 4ft double bed and single bed. There is a new bath and shower room.

Notes to the rental rates

All the prices include electricity, water rates, use of phone for local calls, logs (except low season). The house will be cleaned before and after your visit. All linen and towels can be provided at an extra charge of 10£ per week. My french house keeper lives nearby and is available to advise you if there any problems.
From Nov to march fees may be charged for heating bills.

Booking: 100£ deposit with firm booking. Full prices of stay to be sent 2 weeks before departure plus a deposit of £150 against loss damages of breakages.

Galary
Galary is a small hamlet by the river Coudoulus, in the valley full of apple orchards/. Normally very quiet it may become busier in July and august as it s a popular area for people. Montpellier and Nimes come to enjoy the 'mountain air' (it is 1400ft above sea level). The nearest village shopping is in Aulas about 2km away which has one of the best bakeries in the area and an excellent butcher and general store.
The Local Area
The local market town, Le Vigan, is 6km away. It has 2 supermarkets which cater for most needs, and a good range of smaller shops. it has a Saturday market which is worth a visit for local products such as goat cheese, honey, herbs, sweet chest nut product, as well as local crafts. Local Restaurant re not Michellin four star, but have good country food. Nimes and Montpellier are both approximately 50kms away, thriving sophisticated centres, worth a visit to admire the carefully restored historic quarters and the wide variety of new buildings and urban designs.

Nearest airport is Nimes(Ryanair via Luton) or Montpellier. Luton -Nimes Ryanair .Stansted -Montpellier Ryanair . Gatwick-Montpellier Easyjet . Both 1 hour 45 mins drive from Marseille
