Summer:
Once the snows retreat, a lush green valley appears and is host to many leisure activities. The ski lifts are open for July and August allowing access to mountain bikers and walkers. The mountain biking in this valley is some of the best in the world, with steep descents and flowing singletrack.
Also available in the vicinity, golf on Les Arcs 18 and 9 hole courses, swimming, canyoning, rafting/canoeing, paragliding, walking, mountaineering.
Join us for BBQ's on the balcony and watch the sunset over the mountains.
The Village:
Chalet Les Melezes is located at the Villaret end of Peisey village and therefore affords wonderful views over the Tarantaise valley. Peisey is a working farming village complete with cows living in basements, and features a handful of bars and shops.
A 5-10 minute walk to the local lift (nick named the 'Lobster Pots' - you'll see why) carries you to the village of Plan Peisey and Vallandry above, and links directly to Les Arcs or La Plagne. Plan Peisey and Vallandry are where the slopes finish and ski schools start and have many more bars, shops and restaurants.
Cuisine:
Caz has been cheffing for 15 years in restaurants all over the world, from Wellington NZ to Amsterdam, Sydney and London. She combines her Australasian roots with French delicacies to produce sumptuous creations to refuel your body and mind after a hard day exploring the mountains.
Morning starts with a continental breakfast enhanced with porridge, pancakes, frittata or muffins.
Upon your return from the slopes, help yourselves to tea, coffee and one of Caz's infamous cakes, slices or biscuits.
As evening approaches, tantilising aromas emanate from the kitchen to get those juices flowing. Sit down and enjoy a wholesome 3 course meal with wine, using the freshest ingredients and ideas to create a mouth watering feast.
Enjoy our homemade jam, reduced balsamic vinegars for dressings, and home baked biscotti with after dinner coffee.
