We offer 6 comfortable character cottages all owned and carefully maintained by us. We are situated in 3 locations near the castles close to Chenonceaux east of Tours well located for exploring this lovely historic region of France. The cottages are located in villages near the river and vineyards and offer wonderful walks and cycling. Our cottages are well equipped with fully fitted gourmet kitchens, luxious bathrooms, beautifully appointed bedrooms with best quality bedding (we offer a linen service and cleaning). We have large enclosed gardens at Vrigny (3 cottages) and Bourre (2 cottages). Our sixth cottage is located in Francueil village square near the church cafe and shop. We offer one three bedroom cottage, three two bedroom cottages and two one bedroom cottages; baby equipment including cots on request. A holiday in one of our cottages offers you a peaceful break with lots of interesting places to visit, a chance to taste the local wines and excellent restaurants nearby

This lovely old cottage for one or 2 couples has recently been lovingly restored providing high class accommodation. La Grange is situated in a quiet position in the interesting and historic village of Bourré in the beautiful Loire Valley Region of France, near Chateau de Chenonceau, Amboise and Montrichard. We are within 5 minutes walk of the village shops, convenient for visiting the famous chateaux and vineyards. Near Mushroom Caves and Champagne Caves of Monmousseau.The River Cher is only 5 minutes away and is lovely for walking. Gourmet kitchen/diner with double oven, 5-burner ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, dish-washer and washing machine. Large living room with two settees, open fireplace for log fires, TV and DVD player, radio / CD player and library of books and videos. Two double bedrooms under the eaves; superb upstairs bathroom under the eaves with corner bath, bidet; downstairs shower-room, WC. Linen service and cleaning available. Patio furniture and BBQ.

Our cottages are situated in the heart of the Loire Valley chateau region valley of the kings, so are well placed for visiting the historic castles and towns of Chenonceaux, Chambord, Villandry, Azay-sur-Cher and Chinon and many others as well as the interesting towns on the river Loire including Amboise, Blois, Tours and Saumur. Our region is also famous for its Touraine Wines especially Vouvray, Chinon and Bourgueil. Our local village wines are Gamay and Sauvignon and very good they are too. We are also within a day trip of Sancerrre and Pouilly if you are keen to taste the Loire Valley wines, especially now the Autiroute A85 has been completed.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Non-refundable deposit of £100 per week required at time of booknig, the balancewill be paid 6 weeks before your holiday. Please e mail me for a booking form. Prices include heating and light, cooking and water, but not bed linen and towels (avaiable to hire) or terminal cleaning.
  • Logs for hte open fire are £20 a week.
    Optional - Linen is £30 a double bed and cleaning after you leave £50.
  • When you have paid for your holiday you will receive a pack with directions, loads of information about the cottage and the region etc.

Notes: The cottages in Bourre are situated on the very sunny hillside looking out over the river Cher, We are not far from the village high street with a very good Boulangerie, Butcher / Green grocer and Pharmacy. We have a range of bicylces for our guests to use at their pleasure. They are maintained by the local cycle shop so in good order, We are close to the river Cher (just across the main street) and so have lovely walks by the river Cher. Large enclosed garden with garden furniture lawn and fruit trees. There is plenty of parking at the cottage. If this cottage is not available the week you prefer please e mail me and ask about Le Vieux Boulangerie at Francueil, this cottage is currently under restoration and will be available from April this year. It will be really luxurious, rather more spacious than La Grange with 2 double bedrooms one with en-suite shower-room the other with a private bathroom; both bedrooms with corner sitting room for privacy.
