Casita Colina is a pretty 1 bedroom Cottage, situated in a rural setting, on the edge of a small village near the Historic town of Loja. It is in a rural but not isolated area, with neighbours close by, so you are not cut off from everything. There are two bars in the village, one of which is a bar/restaurant and although not the nearest is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. The bar/restaurant - Venta San Rafael - is a typical village bar serving free tapas with alcoholic drinks, and serving basic but tasty meals. Although Casita Colina is next door to Casa Susana they are rented out totally separately and do not share the pool etc., unless both properties are rented out together (Ideal for larger families).

The cottage is an ideal place to relax and get away from it all (nearly all), yet you are not too far from everything you need. The village has a small shop next to Rafael's bar, which caters for your basic daily needs, but the town of Loja is only a 5 minute drive away where there are main supermarkets. Loja also has many restaurants, bars, a small hospital and many historic buildings.

Places to visit

Casita Colina is ideally situated as a base for visiting the many wonders of Andalucia. Approximate travel times are: Seville 2 hours, Granada 45minutes, the beaches of Malaga 1 hour, Beaches of the Costa Tropical 1.25 hours. Sierra Nevadas for spectacular scenery in the summer or great ski-ing in the winter is 1.5 hours. Gibraltar for tax free shopping 2hours. If you are a Marx Brothers fan you may recognise Loja, as it was photographed as 'Sylvania' in the Marx Brothers film 'Duck Soup'. There is even a tribute to the Marx Brothers, in the area where the photo was taken from, with shadow figures of them. If you are a Spaghetti Western fan you may recognise Tabernas, as this is where films such as the Good the Bad and the Ugly / Lawrence of Arabia and many others were filmed. Golf courses at Antequera and Granada are about 45minutes drive.
