Spacious and romantic manor XVII° Century, beautifully decorated with antique furniture. Large swimming pool (18x5 m) surrounded by a large Mediterranean garden (10 000m2) with olive-trees, pines, and orchard. Peaceful countryside in the middle of the vineyards. Secure parking. Large terrace oriented south-west sheltered by trees. Very nice view. Ground: vast library with a sofa, 1 playing room with a sofa, 1 sitting room, 1 dining room, 1 American kitchen fully equipped, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 WC. First floor: 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 WC. Second floor: 2 desk rooms and 1 rest room with a single bed. We are 5 minutes to Pézenas (15 minutes walking), midway between the mountains and the sea. It only takes about 20 minutes by car to reach the busy Mediterranean resorts and beaches or the peaceful foothills of the Cévennes and the secret Languedoc.

Nearest airport via RyanAir and BA is Montpellier: a 40 minutes drive from Pézenas. We are an hour from the walled city of Carcassonne, and only 15 minutes to Meze beach, with its seahorses and fishing harbour, 40 minutes to Heric Gorge. You are 5 minutes from Pézenas, the historical town where Molière has lived. A very attractive and active town, large and typical market every Saturdays, lots of typical shops and many shows, theatre plays all over the year. Other major attractions within easy reach are Sete and Agde on the coast, with their beaches and harbours, and the local Dinosaur Park as well as water parks, aquariums and seaside amusements. There is a huge amount to see and do within very easy reach. You can also walk or drive on the small countryside paths and roads to enjoy the beauty of the landscape and the sweet-smelling garrigue, surrounded by the largest wine domain in France.

The photographs don't do this house justice, it is such a beautiful place. You can see that a lot of care has gone into restoring the house and although it has been decorated and furnished to a high standard it still manages to feel very comfortable and homely. There were 13 of us (adults and teenagers) and there was plenty of room to spread out. Very pretty garden off the kitchen and wonderfully shady area at the front of house to eat outside or laze around in hammocks. The pool looks great and is lovely to swim in. The area is really interesting and the nearest town, Pezenas is charming. Highly recommended.
