A rustic 1800 farmhouse in a very peaceful setting, with own pond area. 8800 square metres of beautiful farm land included surrounding the house. One large lounge area (formerly a barn), dining area and a rustic, but well equipped kitchen. Around the house area many different places to eat, have a barbecue, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the country side. Loches within 20 mins where you can do all types of shopping, eating and visit the old castle in the middle of the town. Wednesdays and Saturdays a morning market with farm produce. Tours, one of the major cities in France an hour by car and an hour and a half by bus which goes from Chatillon sur Indres (11 km from house) or Loches. One of the major cities in France with antique stores, live theatre, classical music performances and lots of shopping. Guaranteed peaceful holiday in comfortable home.

We have a weeks holiday at Les Bertins - 4 adults - 2 boys & 7 teenagers (18+) plus Derrick the Dog. The accommodation was perfect for all of us - amble space, comfortable beds & plenty of space - 3 bathrooms, great kitchen, fantastic lounge & an excellent Terrace where we ate morning, noon & night. The piece de la resistance was the swimming pool - excellent size & all of us enjoyed it - great time. the vegetable garden and the rustic kitchen were ideal to feed us all & on site & fresh (an added bonus). The location is set in the countryside away from the road, tranquil & we could make a noise & not disturb anyone . A great place to stay - ideal for a family / firnds holiday & a great location to see the Loire Valley & surrounding countryside. We all came away, relaxed, friends & a great holiday had by all - a must to stay
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

We found Les Bertins to be welcoming, friendly and peaceful with everything necessary in the house for a perfect stay including an organic vegetable garden for our use. Ideally situated for the beautiful towns of Loches, Tours and Blois all well worth a visit, especially the Saturday market in Loches which is a foodies delight!

It was lovely to arrive at the house and find three bottle of local wine, home made jam and vegetables from the garden.

Plenty of good restaurants for all prices and tastes nearby especially the michelin star restaurant where we had the best meal we have ever experienced!!!!!!!

I have recommended this property to all my friends and relatives.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: Yes, the vegetable garden has been a new addition and has been enjoyed by all the guests.

Know the restaurant with the best meal ever and I would certainly recommend it. It has recently received a michelin star.
