This is an exceptional, spacious new villa in a quiet and peaceful hillside setting with a large garden and terraced olive groves yet only 1.5 km from the medieval perched village of Seillans, voted one of the prettiest little villages of France. The living accommodation and bedrooms open onto a large upper terrace with a beautiful outlook over the pool, olive grove and cypress trees. The master bedroom benefits from its own large 1st floor private balcony/solarium. The villa combines the sympathetic looks of a traditional provencal stone farmhouse with the modernity and open spaces of a contemporary property. It has a large modern kitchen / dining room and winter and summer living areas. It has a wood burning fireplace, central heating and air conditioning with en-suite bathrooms in all bedrooms and has outdoor dining table and chairs. Set within 5500 m² of private land, the property is within an hours drive of Nice, St Tropez and the Gorge Verdon.

Seillans is one of five perched villages located just west of Grasse and north west of Cannes. The other villages are called Montauroux, Callian, Tourettes, Fayence. Seillans is the oldest and listed as one of the untouched villages of Provence. There are many good restaurants in the area including several with Michelin stars. The area has several typical local markets throughout the week and is only 15 minutes from good vineyards where you can buy directly from the farm as well as you will be able to buy the local olive oil. We are only 30 minutes drive from Cannes and 50 from Nice. You can visit all the sights on the coast and at the same time drive back and enjoy the quiet area in the back hills. Behind us you will find the mountains where you can hike and drive through the large cliffs. All in all this area offers a large variety of things to do.

Additional information about rental rates

  • During the mid and high season, inclusive of weekly maid service (linen change), towels and pool maintenance. The villa rental includes electricity, gas and water consumption in mid and high season.
  • In the low, early and late season, electricity consumption is charged according to metered usage. During the same period, wood for the fireplace in the winter salon is supplied at the property and is charged according to usage. Wireless broadband internet connection is freely provided as are all local phone calls.

    Deposit of 25% required with booking. In the event of cancellation, deposit will be refunded if we are able to rebook villa for those dates. Refundable security deposit of 25% required to be paid with balance of rent 8 weeks before date of arrival.
  • Longer term rents in low season negotiable as is the changeover day.

Local area: The house is just 50 minutes from Nice airport. A journey of 20 minutes takes you to Lac St. Cassien, ideal for children with its beaches, pedalos and restaurants. Lac Ste. Croix and the spectacular Gorge du Verdon are 50 minutes drive. There you will find rafting, sailing, climbing or wonderful walks. The coastal beaches and resorts of Ste. Maxime, St. Tropez and Frejus are reached in 40 minutes. Or simply explore the lovely local area with its forest walks and colourful villages. Visit a different market every day! In this area famous for its gastronomy, gourmet restaurants abound. In the winter, the slopes are reached within an hour where great skiing can be found.

Skiing information: In the winter and even up until Easter skiing is available at Alpine resorts like Isola, which is only a 2- hour drive. If you are happy with smaller slopes you can find them directly north of Montauroux only 1- hour drive north.

Golf information: This is an ideal area for golfing. You can reach many golf courses within one hours drive. The nearest golf courses are the two new courses at the Terre Blache only 15 minutes drive from the house. These golf courses are worth a visit. From the course you have fantastic views toward the villages and in the background the mountains. The domain de Terre Blache includes a Four Season Resort Hotel and you might even want to visit their magnificent restaurant Le Faventia which was rewarded a Michelen star last year.

Beautiful house, marvellous holiday.

We stayed for a week during August and had a marvellous relaxing holiday. On arrival it was reassuring to be met by an English speaking representative who was able to explain all that we needed to know.
The house itself is stunning, beautifully finished, light, airy and tasteful. Everything that one could need is to hand. The obvious focal point is the lovely kitchen area which opens out onto the patio and pool. The three en suite bedrooms provide further quality finishing touches at every turn. We found the listing description to be spot on.
In the local area Seillans and Fayence are two very pretty hillside villages within easy driving distance, but for us not walkable. Fayence in particular has a very pleasant main thoroughfare with cafes, restaurants and shops, and is well worth a visit.
Further afield, the lively seaside resorts of Frejus and St Raphael are within an hour's drive through beautiful countryside. For any party with children we would recommend a twenty minute drive to Lac St Cassien. On a busy day the the parking can be hazardous but the water side facilities are tremendous.
In summary this is a marvellous villa in beautiful surroundings. We had a fantastic holiday and certainly hope to return in the future.

Perfect House

The house itself is really perfect, beatifully done, tastefully decorated and brilliantly equipped. Lots of space and it is even better than in the photos on the website (if that is possible as they look pretty good). The upstairs room is a real treat. It was a lovely base and a good place to chill out, with all comforts in good working order.

The (English) representative, who lives in the neighbouring village, Sarah, was very helpful and welcoming and the property itself had much already there, such as olive oil, herbs and spices, kitchen towels, etc. etc. - you just have to renew what you use/finish off which was very civilized.

The property was somewhat further to the coast than we had imagined from the map as the roads are a bit winding, e.g. 1 hour to Antibes if you go via Grasse, 3/4 hour to (the outskirts of) Cannes and Antibes if you cut down to the motorway. If you just want to pootle around the local villages it is absolutely ideal.

We had a great day swimming in the lake and using the pedalos etc. (teenagers and early 20s folk in our party), and thoroughly recommend a trip out to the Iles de Lerins (off Cannes - get boat out from the old port), also Antibes, Grasse, the Fondation Maeght etc. etc. are all superb ... there is so much here.

The only problem we had was the travelling, as the 4 hour trip we'd left ourselves from Lyon took us 8 hours in the motorway-carpark - 26 kilometre traffic jams were a nightmare; this was all due to the fact that it was the weekend in August when all Parisians (and everyone else as far as I could see) decamp to the South of France - it was almost as bad coming back. I don't know whether Mindy would consider another changeover day ... but the difficulty only applies to August I should think.

Anyway, all in all a beautiful place. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely house

The house was very easy to get to from Nice airport and is in a quiet location. Although it's not at all remote, you will need a car to get to the villages of Seillans and Fayence.

The house is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and was very spacious. It was also immaculately clean and well maintained. The description and photos on the website proved to be very accurate

During our stay we visited several of the beautiful hill villages, Frejus beach (several times) and Lac St Cassien as well as longer trips to Italy and the Gorge de Verdon. Although we did in fact spend a lot of time by the pool. We ate mostly in Seillans and Fayence where there is a good range of restaurants.

Relaxing Week - Away from everything

From the moment of the booking to the final minutes of the holiday, we were delighted with everything the Villa had promised.

The Villa, boast 3 large bedrooms, with en-suite bathrooms and a separate WC. Everything is clean and tidy, with absolutely everything envisaged, prepared and delivered. Mindy and Sarah were both on hand to provide any help required.

The location the property was a delight, with enough land and space to ensure that the area offered so much more than London. The villages of Seillans and Fayance were close enough and offered everything we wanted.

We travelled with two young children and chose to drive from London, the journey itself was relatively present – stopping for breaks along the way and making good time through the use of the Toll Roads.

Thoroughly recommended and hopefully over the Easter/Autumn time we will we be able to book again.

A great family holiday

This property is perfect. It is set in reasonably secluded surroundings allowing a private and quiet holiday. The villa is beautifully finished, clean and very well equipped. The location is great - in easy reach of all parts of the South coast.
We had a great holiday with our 2 boys and we would definitely consider going back.
