A romantic hideaway special even for Tuscany. Set on a hillside amidst olive groves and vineyards it comprises a spectacular open plan space under double vaulted ceilings. A contemporary style kitchen boasting every amenity contrasts with selected farmhouse antique pieces in a rustic stone and wood backdrop. A comfortable seating area focuses on an open fireplace. A mezzanine en-suite bed-dressing area affords great views. French doors to the front and back lead onto a wraparound patio enabling one to follow the sun and enjoy 360 degree views. They create the effect of having the outdoors inside. A stone barbeque and a well bearing spring water grace the immaculate gardens set behind pillars framing iron gates. The Italian owner, envisioning the departure of his children, restored it as a perfect chill party space (the departure is taking longer than foreseen). A 10 minute walk to a quaint village and the same by car to town, it offers town and country in a fairytale setting.

Nearest Beach: beach at 100.0 Kilometres
Sinalunga is the ideal base to see the rest of Tuscany. Its road connections are second to none and every road out is breathtakingly beautiful. Only half an hours drive to the magical city of Siena, 20 mins to Montepulciano, Pienza, Cortona, Arezzo and Lago Trasimeno; 45 mins to Perugia. One hour to Florence, one and a half to Rome. This town is in the centre of the wine growing region and completely surrounded by vineyards and olive groves which can't help but compliment a holiday in Tuscany. The property is outside a small village called Scrofiano which is itself a satellite of Sinalunga which is a reasonable size town that has a delightful old centre and several restaurants and shops as well as an Olympic sized outdoor public pool. Here you can also access the train network and buy fresh produce from the market every Tuesday and Thursday. There are at least four good natural spas and facilities within 45 mins. Outdoor concerts and opera are accessible on a daily basis.

Maybe I am biased because this is the villa where my husband and I spent our honeymoon but it really is breathtaking. We live in South Carolina so we traveled a long way to find our Tuscan hideaway but it was well worth it. From contacting the representative for the villa, to meeting the owner of the house to collecting the keys and be taken on a personal tour everyone involved were so kind and helpful. The family who owns it could not have been nicer, they were the quintessential Italian family, with an infectious charm. They managed to make us feel welcome by staging the house with amenities including a bottle of homegrown olive oil and carafe's of wine from their vineyard. The house is beyond charming and you have your own roosters and doves that live in a beautiful vine covered pen at the foot of the expansive garden that overlooks the Tuscan hills! The house was immaculate and if you really just want to get away and enjoy nature and find some peace this is the place to go. My husband and I both agree that the pictures on the website do not do this little house justice as it is far more magical in person. Also the family was so hospitable without being intrusive. I was sick one day of our trip and my husband ran into the owner (Albo) and in very broken Italian explained that I was not feeling well and the owner went to the local pharmacy and got medicine and left it on our doorstep! We did day trips to Sienna, Scorfiano, Cortona and departed from Rome. We would recommend this home to anyone and hope to return for our 5 year anniversary! Fond memories!
