Ar Men is a spacious country cottage in large garden.
Ar-Men is a very attractive detached little cottage situated at the very top of Neant-sur-Yvel which is known as the “Porte de Broceliande” Broceliande is a very famous wood & is associated with the French Arthurian Legend. It is vast woodland which starts in, Trehorenteuc, a little village a couple of kilometres down the road from Ar-Men and spreads over 15 km. The forest is very unusual and has a very rugged landscape of valleys, lakes and crags. Ideal grounds for hiking and mountain biking. On the other side of the village is the “Voie Verte”, a former railway line now a long distance footpath and cycle way. You enter the cottage through an arched doorway entering the open plan living dining area with a stone fireplace. Two French doors lead out to the sheltered terrace and extensive garden. Near the terrace is a barbecue. The kitchen is further along the terrace and has French doors leading to the terrace. Upstairs are 4 large double bedrooms which comfortably sleep 8 people.

Enchanted woodland
Neant is on the edge of Broceliande, and supports the Breton equivalent of Arhturian legend. There is a golden tree (L'arbre d'Or) and pools inhabited by fairies and stone placed by wizards (Merlin). the road to the wood is the Val sans retour - is claimed that Vivianne led Lancelot this way and he returned but not others -- if they cheated in love they could not get back - so watch where you go! There are several walks in the woodland most of them suitable for children 6+. You might meet the Lord of thr Rings. For the more adventurous there is a 60 km long distance path or cycle way that follows the river. If you want water activities without the crouds on the beach there is sailing and canoeing on the Lac au Duc - 15 mins away. More water trip on the canal de Nantes a Brest abut 30 mins away
Other Activities Canoeing & kayaking
