Casa Zazza was originally a 19th Century farmhouse. After careful restoration it is now a charming country villa. The setting is 'heaven', said one guest: mountain views, surrounded by fields and, occasionally, sheep making the local pecorino cheese. The established large garden is lined with oak trees. The villages of Gualdo (small shops) and Sarnano (supermarkets) are minutes away. The vista changes by season: red poppies in spring, golden wheat in summer. The 'mod. cons.' include free broadband, Jacuzzi bath, satellite TV, and a 5 burner/2-oven stove. Entertaining and dining under the large portico (terrace) are favourite pastimes. There are 4 good-sized bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a spacious attic with 2 single beds as a bonus. Shopping, dining and exploring are on hand. Le Marche is home to Italy's famous shoe makers like Tods. The food is simple, fresh and seasonal. The Sibillini National Park is 30 minutes away. Or relax in the garden by the pool!

Local food--prepared at home after a market visit, or enjoyed in the many resaurants. Tasting local wines; specialities include Verdicchio from Matelica and Jesi, Conero Rosso, Rosso Piceno, plus a unique local bubbly red from Serrapatrona. Europe's largest caves at Frasassi, within 1.5 hours. A Roman amphiteatre at Urbisaglia. The famous summer outdoor opera season in Macerata. Or, just sitting by the pool!

A wonderful house in the most beautiful, peaceful setting with views of the mountains. The garden, with its pool, is a great bonus providing plenty of shade for those really hot days.
The kitchen is well equipped for those wanting to cook, and the bathrooms clean and modern.
Plenty of local restaurants to try - all within a few minutes drive. Very useful notes in the house. The nearest town Sarnano has an excellent weekly market and further afield is Macerata with the opera festival.
We have just booked for the third year running - what more can I say!

Astounding surreal peace and quiet.

WOW! What a villa. Tucked away in the hill tops Cassa Zazza offers a quiet, relaxing heaven for all who adore the Italian way of life.

A brisk walk up the farm tracks takes you to the local village for a fabulous mid morning Expresso, or fresh bread baked on the premises!

But it doesn't stop there. You can drive to local hilltops and lakes for amazing walks and views you will never forget!

Cassa Zazza ticked EVERY box for us...

Beautiful Gualdo!

We loved Cassa Zazza! Six of us stayed, and we had plenty of room - in fact we did not use one bedroom. The facilities were very good and the setting was blissful. A quiet country hillside, with great sun and views. The little town of Gualdo was great fun, and we loved the weekend market.

Nearby the town of Sarnano provided supermarket and other shopping, plus a good selection of restaurant and bars.

Within an hours drive were a great selection of outlet shops so the few days when the weather was ordainary we went spending!

We had a wonderful holiday with Cassa Zazza as our base. The only warning - using our GPS we found more than one home had address similarities, so finding it required human help.

I would recommend this great property to others, but please don't book when we want to return!
