Cosy stone cottages for two people in a village location.

Our stone cottages are perfect for couples wanting a quiet holiday with a luxury pool and comfortable facilities. Conveniently situated for Avignon, Nimes, Arles, and Uzes. With the Cevennes and its hills and valleys close by, we are perfectly situated for walkers and cyclists, & there is horse riding in the vicinity. There are colourful markets in Barjac, Les Vans & St Ambroix all within easy reach. Uzes market is particularly colourful and even has its own web site. The Ardeche Gorges are 20 minutes drive away and great for canoeing, kayaking or just sightseeing. A beautiful part of France! Though our cottages are part of one ancient stone building, they are at different levels and aspects and are all different, having the ambience of an ancient stone hamlet. There is a lovely courtyard separating our house from the accommodation and even a small spring running by the buildings. There is a Mediterranean garden and our luxury salt system 13.7 metre pool with its poolside bar.

Details for Le Fleuriste in the Ardeche, France

This individual apartment has a pleasant shower room, compact bedroom and small salon with a 'coin cuisine'. The WC is off the salon. Terracotta tiles to the floor, exposed beams, simple pine furniture and a comfortable bed, we think this would be perfect as a cozy retreat for a holiday making couple. To add to the easy living we have included a high spec cooker which has a four ring electric hob, oven and six place dishwasher. Stay here and you are nearest the pool! You have a little personal bridge over our little 'Lavat' or stream, and a neat breakfast patio on the other side of the bridge. You can barbecue here too! Le Fleuriste is about 23 square metres in total and is also equipped with a flat screen TV which will play DVDs CDs and is hooked up to UK satellite TV and radio.

Saint-Sauveur-de-Cruzieres is a small village with many old stone buildings and a small river flowing through its heart. Across the road from our Mas is the boulangerie and we are a few steps from two bar - restaurants. We overlook the countryside with its vineyards and olive groves and dramatic hills in the near distance. Our climate is Mediterranean and we enjoy plenty of sunshine. Our buildings resemble an old stone hamlet and are centred round its courtyards and a small spring that flows through the property. It would take many visits to see all the local attractions. There are grottos and caves to explore, plenty of castles and medieval villages and towns with their colourful markets to choose from. The area is very popular with walkers & cyclists. The Cevennes are a short drive away. Here, serious hikers can face challenging trails through the rugged and dramatic scenery. The rivers Ardeche, Ceze, and Chassezac all have gorges to visit, swim or canoe through.

Local activities swimming, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, mountain biking, paragliding

Pool Area.

We are justly proud of our pool which is 13.7 metres (about 45 feet) by 5.5 metres and has Roman Steps descending into the shallow end. There is a gentle gradient from 1.2 metres at the shallow end to a deeper area of about 1.5 metres. The pool has a salt water system which is both kind to the skin and repulsive to wasps & other unwelcome guests. We have installed a heat-pump system which heats the water in an efficient eco-friendly way. Our sun loungers are hardwood and text line, a special fabric designed for pool use. Our chairs have a similar fabric, especially for your comfort between dips. Our pool-side bar carries welcome cold beers & soft drinks.

Mediterranean Garden.

Our garden is planted with trees, shrubs and flowers that are native to the environment and climate of Southern France. You will enjoy the scent of lavender, rosemary and other herbs around the garden and the colourful Laurier Rose or Oleander planted near the pool. jasmine and honeysuckle are everywhere! In the garden we have staged a picnic area with rustic table beneath the cherry trees. For relaxing moments there is a two seater 'Ballancelle'. For those bursts of activity we have created a boulodrome and even installed lighting for evening games. There is a hardwood table & chairs placed by the small fish pond, we often enjoy aperitifs there!

Places to Visit in The Area

The Ardeche Gorges are a 20 minute drive away. The road that winds along the top of the Gorge from the famous Vallon Pont D'Arc has many stopping places from which to enjoy the spectacular views. At Vallon there are many hire centres where canoes and two seater kayaks can be paddled along the river through the gorges. A truly magnificent experience. Uzes is a medieval town with many attractions and a maze of alleys and narrow streets to explore. The famous tree lined Place Aux Herbes is host to a colourful and fascinating Provencal market. Avignon and the Palais des Papes is an easy drive away as are the ancient Nimes & Arles with their Roman remains. Visit the Pont du Gard to see the remains of the Roman aquaduct, which is a World Heritage Site, or experience one of the spectacles held there in June. The Cevennes is a place of wild beauty, with ancient chapels in stone villages tucked in among the forested hills and valleys. This region is a hikers paradise.

Other Activities Canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, sightseeing, just relaxing!
